Tons of content gone!!
Added 2024-07-23 00:25:09 +0000 UTCSo the video hosting site we posted videos to for years has terminated every link we have every shared... Got the news via email a little bit ago. I don't even know exactly what shows are impacted by this but I know most of the early content since that's what we used when we started here. This is a HUGE issue and I will figure out a solution.

It's hit and miss...I noticed there would be one but the next video would say not available. The thing that socks you can pay a website to have a place to post but if they decide to shut down you are out of luck. I did a memorial for a friend. Paid for life... then it was gone.

I am almost entirely asking these questions because I myself am interested in being in the movie/series reaction space on YouTube but as I was doing research I’ve heard some scary things to say the least that can come out of it so I’m just confused on if I should do it or not and how to navigate it safely if there is a safe way.

Or you guys just post it regardless of being claimed because the content isn’t monetized on YouTube anyways. I’m guessing it’s one of the two.

2024-07-23 00:47:00 +0000 UTCThat's a little more complicated but the easiest explanation on what makes reaction videos safe from copyright is: 1) the video has to be transformative 2) it can't do damage to the IP and 3) can't serve as a substitution for the original source. So for us, by chopping the content up and removing a bunch of it and providing commentary throughout, we we following copyright laws.

And I have a final question if you’re open for it, if copyright is in place for content like this then how do you do your posts on YouTube? I’m confused how one’s supposed to go about this since people such as Brandon Likes Movies got into complications. I don’t even know if you guys are or can be monetized or not on YouTube.
