Her brother was an a-hole, that killed Kaceys brother and would have killed Kacey too. It was self defence, just like when he killed the men from the van, that kidnapped and r*ped the girl. Both tried to shoot him. That the one guy hit his head on a stone was an accident. Kacey is a good guy and not a cold blooded killer.
