The thing that always confused me about the theatrical ending: If they wanted to keep Decker around for a sequel that makes sense, and if they wanted him to become the thing he was trying to destroy that would work thematically But, teaming him with with Ashberry made no sense, and beyond that was just flat-out unnecessary! Boone had stabbed Decker with a blade that had gone through his own chest, meaning Decker had Boone's blood in him and could have been infected by that! Ashberry was entirely redundant in this revival!

Dekkar is played by David Cronenberg! When he wants to be in your movie, you let him in your movie. I also watched an interview where Barker talks about Cabal. He kinda wanted to related it to him being outwardly Gay in late 70s early 80s England. I have read Damnation Game and Weaveworld which are also highly recommended.

Nice Green Wing reference! Good review Cabal isn’t one of Barker’s best works and neither was the movie, though I only saw the studio version.
