2017-02-03 00:41:41 +0000 UTCI actually wonder if 'fire' was the keyword because people snapping out of it if the mill was on fire would mean they wouldn't have to explain the large number of dead bodies in the mill to the police/etc. ...Since there's a 'turn off' word and the implication that you just need to use the activate/trigger phrase to turn it back on, in the event of the mill being on fire you could switch the hypnosis off (FIRE!) and then go and get your free labor back later by using the activation phrase. (*shrugs* Literally just a thought ^^)
