August Update: Writing Forever

The Script Cometh
I said it was possible in the last update, and it has come true: the next video will come out in September. It's one of those scripts you could just kind of research forever, which is kiiiiiiiind of what I've been doing: I've read about a dozen papers, met with three professional researchers, and interviewed one former Alt-Righter. I've also made a big-ass questionnaire and will be reaching out to some folks who've worked with formers to get it circulated among them.
There is a good chance this video will break half an hour, in which case I'll count it for August and September. And if it doesn't, I guess I'm back to owing you four videos! Protagony will be fun. :D
Takedown
Bad news: Lady Eboshi is Wrong has been flagged by Studio Ghibli thanks to YouTube's new manual flagging system. I'm disputing it, and will throw a version up on Vimeo when I get back to my computer, but this may be the situation for a while. Ghibli isn't known for respecting Fair Use, and YouTube tends throw up their hands and say "either come to an agreement or sue each other" after a point.
So I dunno if I'm going to get this back YouTube. We'll see how things play.
Um... What Else?
Not a lot else going on! Everything seems to be moving slowly. I only read one book this month, pecked away at Wandersong but haven't finished it, didn't really go to the theater much. Just been pecking away at the script.
So we'll keep this update short and I'll be in touch soon!

By the way, thank you for making sure there’s an alternative place to view LEiW. That allowed me to use it in class again this semester.

I actually shared it with a few dharma teachers a couple weeks ago and they were so into it and both said they would definitely make time to watch Princess Mononoke again soon. *l sigh*

2019-08-30 12:09:56 +0000 UTCIan, do you have to pay to upload content to Vimeo? Is that what essentially prevents that service from being a viable alternative to YouTube for content creators, aside from YT having a much larger audience-share and outreach?
