August Update: I Could Do This All Day

Hey team! Happy Friday.

(For any of you on the other end of the International Date Line, happy whatever day it is!)

Progress Report

The Big ol' Longo nearly has a rough cut. I managed to up the pace last week from 3 days to finish a segment to only 2. As of now, all that remains is the conclusion, which is now written and recorded. I've got some obligations this weekend that will keep me from working on it til next week, so my prognostication in a previous post that the final edit won't come out til September has quite clearly come true.

It's a big relief to have the script in workable form and just be focusing on the edit now, but there's still a lot to do. This is a longo, after all, and there's quite a bit of re-editing, re-writing, titling, graphic designing, sound designing, and pacing still to be done. It's going to be fun watching it come together. Honestly, I could keep polishing this thing for an another month.

But, obviously, that's not an option. I'll have to do some soul-searching on just how polished I want this thing to be before I make it public, because I want it to be up to my standards without completely devouring the month of September. I've got a whole other video to write and edit in the same month, after all.

It is still the plan to release the Fury Road video and then get the next Alt-Right Playbook out in the same month, because I would sincerely like to not fall behind schedule for the second time this year. But I think maintaining a standard of quality is more important (within reason) than maintaining a schedule, so if the schedule slips, I'll make the time back up somewhere along the way. Hopefully it won't come to that, but I want y'all to know it's a possibility.

Li'l ol' Shorto

I don't think I have anything else to say this update. This last month has been a lot of editing and not much else happened. So let us all reconvene in a month and see what adventures we've gotten up to, yeah?

Cheers,

-I

Comments

The stuff you've already put out, placeholders about drawings and all, is excellent. Like....I can't wait to see the finished product don't get me wrong, but you've already made so much awesome. It's okay, and often necessary, to take a breather. You do you and all that.

Steve: I can get by on my own. Bucky: Thing is... you don't have to. Don't work yourself ragged. YOU are more important than either polish or output.

Will add my own vote as a viewer for "maintaining a standard of quality is more important (within reason) than maintaining a schedule".
