Sam & Cat (first 2 hours)

I'm sorry you've been having a hard time. I hope things are going better for you. Your doing great man. The video is excellent. I haven't watched the 3 hour version yet but I'm about to. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you might be beating yourself up a bit because this video is going to be shorter and your going to have less to say about it. If that's the case, don't beat yourself up. You said yourself that Sam And Cat is only 35 episodes long. There is naturally going to be less to go over and as much as I love these super videos you're making (I do love them) I don't think it's healthy for you to be expected to ALWAYS do a 10 hour deep dive on a given subject. I'm totally down for you going back to shorter videos when this is all done. Anyway as you said your going to divide these discussions up by the four intermissions you're going to do so your going to have plenty of time to go in depth. What do I like about this video? Well, in terms of the overall project, I didn't grow up with iCarly or any Nickelodeon sitcoms for that matter. I was too old by then. So what I get out of the project overall is I get a fascinating deep dive into a fandom I'm unfamiliar with. I feel like I'm just sitting down and listening to you tell me a story about this whole franchise that I've never been exposed to before, both in universe to the story and out with the real life stuff behind the scenes. Specific to this video, I really love the stuff about the Gibby Pilot. I didn't think you were going to go into while I was anticipating the Sam And Cat video and now that I can see it, I think you did a great job. The best part for me is, well, I know your not a Star Trek fan, but I am, so the fact that you actually got Tim Russ to play his role as the principal in your Gibby pilot recreation made me totally fan boy out. Anyway, you're doing a great job. Keep up the good work. Don't overwork yourself and take some time for you especially if things are chaotic in your life right now. Love you bro.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if some network exec decided having adult protagonists was bad for business. The only one of these kidcoms to have one was "Jessie", but that show made up for it by having a cast full of (irritating) child characters that viewers could identify with.

Jennette McCurdy’s memoir needs to be mentioned here (and I know this video isn’t finished!) If anything, just to say that the mean spirited nature of these shows extended to the work culture and to the cast of children they relied on. Also to give context of what Jennette was going through, and that she hated Sam and Cat. And ya know, to give a fuck you to Nickelodeon

I'm waiting to watch until it gets fully released but I think it'll be good timing. I think it would be a good idea to do a quick voiceover disclaimer saying the video was written and produced before the publishing of jeanette's memoir, maybe take a day to read it and do a once-over of the video to ensure none of it is problematic for reasons you couldn't anticipate. I don't mind waiting! Edit: or, easier, have someone who has read it already do the once-over for you! Or do none of that and just post it lol, just my opinion

After reading the Jennette McCurdy memoir myself, I think it's VERY important you mention it in this video briefly even if you don't read it until the next video. Otherwise you'll probably get a ton of comments about because it somehow gets even darker than a lot of people anticipated (myself included)
