MOVIE RECOMMENDATION TIME!?!??!

Been a while since we've done this and we have a lot of new people this month, shoot out some movies for us to look into! Also, sorry I haven't been so responsive as of late; been enjoying this time off as it's something I'm pretty sure we definitely needed. Anyways, get to those recommendations as I'll be killing some robots and bugs!

Comments

If you haven't seen the movie before, I recommend "Dead Alive", a Horror/Comedy film.

Michael Pirretti

We have the full reaction on here, but weirdly enough I found a file with old reactions we haven't had made into YouTube cuts yet and that was one of them lol. I didn't realize I had these movies still!

Octokrool

I'll answer this now, we've seen Superbad and that's the only reason why lol; I love that movie!

Octokrool

We have seen them, we actually get them recommended a lot; truly a shame we can't do it lol

Octokrool

Fallen is my favorite Denzel movie and often gets overlooked. These are solid recommendations!

Cat Charbonneau

Here's a few hidden gems I recommend: Stir Of Echoes(Kevin Bacon), Breakdown(Kurt Russel), Nightcrawler(Jake Gyllenhaal), Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas(Johnny Depp), Role Models(Paul Rudd & Sean William Scott), Carlito's Way(Al Pacino), Freeway(Reese Witherspoon), Fallen(Denzel Washington), Beerfest(guys from Supertrooper), and Broken Arrow(John Travolta).

Cameron Kerby

Fever Pitch

Carolee Barry

Stir Crazy and See no Evil, Hear no Evil, 2 great 80s classics starring 2 class actors! Also Dead Man's Shoes if possible one of the most powerful films ever made. It's a must see xx

Crazycatmackem

My favorite movie, The Station Agent (2003). Another good one, Lone Star (1996).

Brownie Win

Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey

Cat Charbonneau

Puppet Master, Xanadu

Carolee Barry

Carolee Barry

Just gonna echo what I've already seen: Forgetting Sarah Marshall Sex Drive I Love You, Man Beerfest She's Out of My League Five of my all-time favorite comedies right here

Brandon Meng

Oh my God, I forgot about Sex Drive, what an absolute gem of a movie, never seen a reaction for it and utterly perfect for this channel Also +1 for Beerfest, She's Out of My League, and I Love You, Man. I'd be geeked out for any of these reactions.

Brandon Meng

Suburban Commando and Mr. Nanny with Hulk Hogan or the 3 ninjas trilogy/ 3 Ninjas, 3 Ninjas Knuckle Up, and 3 Ninjas Kick Back or Earth Girls are Easy with Jeff Goldbloom, Damon Waynes, and Jim Carey.

Michelle Allen

Fattydoe

Braveheart, doctor sleep, apocalypto.

Fattydoe

Not too many reactions to these: Ladyhawke (1985) – The thief Gaston escapes the dungeon of medieval Aquila through the latrine. Soldiers are about to kill him when Navarre saves him. Navarre, traveling with his spirited hawk, plans to kill the bishop of Aquila with help from Gaston. Matthew Broderick, Rutger Hauer, Michelle Pfeiffer “The Shadow” (1994) –Back when superhero movies were fun and not so eaten up being “dark and gritty”. But one must realize where the character came from – pulp comic in the 30s, then a radio drama in the 40s and 50s, and watch it with that mindset. Stars Alec Baldwin (before he got goofy), Penelope Ann Miller, John Lone. “Earth vs The Flying Saucers” (1956) –Hugh Marlowe, Joan Taylor, Donald Curtis DON’T watch the colorized version. The Black and White version is so, so much better. “The Three Musketeers” (1973) and “The Four Musketeers” (1974)(the sequel)– Star studded cast – Michael York, Oliver Reed, Richard Chamberlain, Faye Dunaway, Christopher Lee, Charlton Heston, etc. In my opinion, the best telling of the Musketeer saga. “Tears of the Sun” (2003) – Bruce Willis, Monica Bellucci, Cole Hauser. U.S. Navy Seals sent in to extract a Doctors Without Borders physician “The Incredible Shrinking Man” (1957) – Grant Williams, Randy Stuart, April Kent After exposure to a strange (radioactive / pesticide mix) mist while boating, a man begins to shrink “The Wild Geese” (1978) – Richard Burton, Roger Moore, Richard Harris. Mercenaries are hired to rescue an imprisoned African leader “The Dirty Dozen” (1967) Lee Marvin, John Cassavetes, Charles Bronson Condemned military prisoners are recruited for a behind-the-lines mission during WWII. “Kelly's Heroes” (1970) – Clint Eastwood, Telly Savalas, Donald Sutherland A group of U.S. soldiers sneaks across enemy lines to get their hands on a secret stash of Nazi treasure.

Miles E Coburn

Oh here’s an animated one: The Mitchells vs. The Machines (2021) (robots!!!)

Michelle Allen

Forgetting Sarah Marshall Knocked Up Crash (2004) I Love You Man Love you guys!!!

Jimmy G

Vertigo for sure. You guys, your assessment of Jimmy Stewart as an actor in Its a wonderful Life was spot on, one of the best actors of all time, in Vertigo…one of the best films of all time.

Jimmy G

I have a few that don't have that many reactions to: American Ninja- (action/martial arts) Back when the mythology surrounding ninja was still being established. kind of ridiculous at times, but still fun. Brewster's Millions (comedy) Richard Pryor has to spend a shitload of money within a certain amount of time in order to get his full inheritance. also stars John Candy Blue Streak (comedy) hilarious and quotable Martin Lawrence movie where he stashes a diamond at a construction site after a failed heist, only to find out the building turns out to be a police station, so he has to pretend to be a cop to get it back Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story (action/martial arts/biopic) amazing telling of Bruce Lee's life and start from coming to America with almost nothing to rising to stardom

Fugitive Bumtickler

Deepwater Horizon Miracle (1980 Hockey Team Movie) Spy Game Swimming With Sharks The Big Short Timeline The Creator

Flynn380

Election (1999) Burn After Reading There Will Be Blood Top Secret Good Will Hunting Children of Men American Movie (the documentary) Before Sunrise Moneyball Forgetting Sarah Marshall Rubber

Kane

Die Hard 2 & 3 yesss

Fugitive Bumtickler

The Burbs! It’s crazy how many folks don’t know this Tom Hanks movie exists and it’s gold!

Cat Charbonneau

We actually did it a long time ago when we would do movies for pay, sadly it never got edited for the channel because it was pretty outdated and old quality; but a super damn good movie!

Octokrool

We really gotta get on that beerfest, meant to do it a while ago lol

Octokrool

Vertigo (1958) James Stewart, Kim Novak and Barbara Bel Geddes, (mystery)-Death wish (1974) Charles Bronson(also has Jeff Goldblum) (crime)-Man with 2 Brains (1983) Steve Martin,Kathleen Turner and David Warner(comedy) --Dirty Rotten Scoundrels(1988)Michael Caine,Steve Martin , and Glenn Headly(comedy). --Ballad of Cable Hogue(1970) Jason Robards, Stella Stevens and David Warner. LeSheezy

I second Parenthood! One of my favorite comedies of all time! Really good cast as well!

Annie519

The Quick and the Dead, Desperado, and Alita: Battle Angel.

ATrain 23

I would love for them to watch Steel Magnolias! It would be great see it from a guy’s perspective, it would be fun to see more of that

Annie519

Yes! One of my favorite thrillers! I think thrillers are sorely lacking on the channel, there are so many good ones they are missing out on.

Annie519

A bunch of my choices have already been listed, but I'm gonna list them again and more because I feel you will really enjoy them. (yes there are musicals listed, but I assure you they are great) RED 1 and RED 2 (Bruce Willis) Quick and the Dead - Sharon Stone, Russell Crowe and a baby faced Leonardo DiCaprio Forbidden Kingdom - You wanna see a fight scene between Jackie Chan and Jet Li?? True Grit - I absolutely love the 1969 version with John Wayne, but if Jeff Bridges is more your thing, the remake is good too. The Negotiator Snakes on a Plane Snowpiercer 13th Warrior Descent Hand that Rocks the Cradle Invasion of the Body Snatchers - I prefer the 50s one, but the 70s one is great too. Cliffhanger Backdraft The Frighteners The Great Escape Stop or my Mom will Shoot - Who is more dangerous? Stallone, or his Mother? To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything - Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes and John Leguizamo in drag! Reefer Madness - Based on a 1930s short to warn kids about weed, it was reimagined as a musical. Hilarious satire all about the Dangers of Weed! Renfield - Nicolas Cage as Dracula!!! Magnificent Seven - Watch both versions. Really. Battle Royale - the OG Japanese version of Hunger Games Train to Busan Poseidon Adventure (1972) Doctor Sleep Let's have an 80s romp! - Dark Crystal - same folks that did Labyrinth, but this scared the hell out of me as a kid The Last Starfighter Flight of the Navigator Little Shop of Horrors - Yeah another musical, but c'mon a giant, bloodthirsty talking and singing plant?? Tango and Cash Silverado The Blob (1989) - I love the 50s version but this one gave me nightmares Masters of the Universe - Dolph Lungren is He-Man! Yeah the plot is sucky, but dammit, he's HE-MAN! Spies Like Us Look Who's Talking - just the first one Overboard Stripes Willow Monster Squad Christine Honey I shrunk the Kids Big Other movies that I may not put above all of the others, but you might enjoy them - RoadHouse reboot - The writing sucks, but the fight scenes aren't bad, as Gyllenhaal and McGregor really work hard at beating the shit out of each other. Murder on the Orient Express - Great murder mystery. The 70s one is better in terms of suspense and acting, but the 2017 one has amazing cinematography Point Break Philadelphia Hoosiers The Italian Job - Never saw the original, but the remake was cool Darkman Wanted The One - Jason Statham takes on Jet Li Girl with all the Gifts - Zombie movie Repo! The Genetic Opera - A rock opera made by Darren Lynn Bousman, who did some of the SAW movies. Basically in the future you can buy organ replacements on payment plans, but if you're delinquent they send a Repo Man to take it back by cutting it out of you. Cult Following, not everyone will get it. and I know you don't really TV series, but....... Love Death Robots - Yes, it's a TV series, but I think you'd like the difference in animation style and some of the stories are pretty freaky Hazbin Hotel - Again another TV series and this one's a musical, but it's an R rated series and quite twisted. The Princess of Hell tries to redeem Demons.

Firekrys FWO

Gifted would be great! Such an underrated film!

Annie519

The fact you guys have done so many comedies but not Superbad is pretty insane really.

bnut

The Iron Claw Split Snowpiercer Bad Times At The El Royale 10 Cloverfield Lane The Princess Bride The Hangover The Hand That Rocks The Cradle Overboard Parenthood A Perfect Getaway The Losers Wanted Willow The Mask Of Zorro Con Air Tangled While You Were Sleeping Legally Blonde Drop Dead Gorgeous Death To Smoochy Heart & Souls Mr. Right Free Guy The Descent The Strangers Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs The Croods Zombieland Shaun Of The Dead

Annie519

The Rocky Horror Picture Show A musical I think you'll be more shocked and confused about than annoyed It stars Tim Curry, and has Meat Loaf! "A newly-engaged couple have a breakdown in an isolated area and must seek shelter at the bizarre residence of Dr. Frank-n-Furter." It has cross dressing, and lots of "sexual themes" but no real nudity. It has such a cult following, it's known as the longest running theatrical release in cinema history. 48 years after release it's been shown in tiny theaters across the country ever since, even during covid with no audience to keep the streak.

Cifer

Not sure you will ever get to some of these as Curtis told me “it’s on the list”. So sorry for repeating Chris, I know you’re always busy. Willow Sling Blade The Dead Zone (SK) The Serpent and the Rainbow The Frighteners The Source Code Best of the Best Lionheart Kung Fury Walk Hard the Dewy Cox story and just for fun the Rise of Skywalker … just kidding.

Michelle York

Have you BOTH seen Silence of The Lambs? The trilogy would be fun- people shit talk Hannibal but it’s Ridley Scott and actually reallllly fun and Red Dragon has excellent acting all around.

Cat Charbonneau

If that’s the movie with Sam Rockwell and Steve Carell I agree

Yay! Malice with Alec Baldwin. The Red movies with Bruce Willis are awesome. There were two of them. Some 90’s thrillers are good, Sleeping with the Enemy, Pacific Heights are good. Frequency with Dennis Quaid, Working Girl with Harrison Ford. The Cocoon movies from the 80’s are good. Steel Magnolias is a chick movie, but you guys would like it. Rear Window from Alfred Hitchcock. You guys would like Con Air with Nicolas Cage as well. Another good one from the 80’s was Places In The Heart.
