It's a great story, the soundtrack is amazing and the characters are well written, there isn't very much cheesy or cringy dialog unless it was intended like Neal's lines. Patrick and Jennifer were great together, they had amazing chemistry. They were actually in another movie together before this and they did not get along but when it came time to film this they got along much better and I think that helped especially in the beginning when he was a bit harder on her. Patrick was born for this role, he was already a dancer, I'm pretty sure his mom owned a dance studio, Johnny Castle is just iconic! I also think her dad's performance was so good. His character got a lot of slack back in the day but I always understood him. When he was helping Penny he asked who was responsible and Johnny said he was, of course he's going to assume he was the father, no one corrected or told him otherwise, even Baby thought he was the father at first. And yeah, I wouldn't want my daughter around someone like that and also he had reason to be furious because she flat out lied to him, not only with what she had been doing for the last week or so but he asked her if the money was for something illegal and she lied, abortion was very illegal back then, especially with the way they were doing it and he felt guilty for questioning her. And not many mention this but if it was being investigated and they found that check her dad would be responsible. And once he finds out the truth about Robbie he knew he was wrong about him and told him so. Honestly his biggest flaw was not seeing Baby as a woman but still a child which I think was why he took it as hard as he did. I also understood where Penny was coming from in the beginning, when you tell someone that you were kicked out at 16 and had to defend for yourself the last thing you want to hear is a rich girl saying she envies you, lol. I loved their development, along with Lisa, it's a nice moment between them when she's comforting Baby, she was hurt too. I love all the subtle symbolizes like Baby finally doing the lift, it was her true transformation, it also showed finally having absolute trust in him. It's just so good, lol. A fun fact, her dad also voiced Lumier from Beauty & The Beast, the candlestick. He also sang Be Our Guest, he was a great talent.
