Aak Daar Dovah, Fent Zu'u? Niid. Ch. 13

Finished this up today. It hasn't had my first sweep so if you notice the document being updated in real time by me, don't mind it. This is the benefit you guys get for being over here; early access has its pains too!

For those of you who offer corrections, you have my eternal gratitude as always.

Link is to the document, PDF attached is an alternate way to read. Enjoy!

I'm coming around to liking the Targaryen POV parts of the story more. There is still a certain level of "join these 2 parts of the plot already!" But if you can put aside that anxiousness it's really good.

Diego Sánchez Ramírez

You know. Thinking about the way the creation of Asoiaf is built on oaths/guest rites, sacrifice, and lineage. I could see some interesting things happening especially as an outsider our Dragonborn is. Firstly is, that he will in a way act as a vessel/domain for those sworn to him to reside. That is, be a form of heaven. And the more that swear to him either directly or indirectly, will expand this domain and shape it in ways beyond the dragon souls that composite himself. A more benign form of what he did the previous chapter. And should those who swear to him die in service, they will be “sacrificed” as in their sacrifice will empower him allowing him to use his magics in a way more akin to Skyrim than Planetos. Also possibly using Dovahzuul to leverage the magics beyond what he currently can with or without sacrifice without becoming a true shout. Next is titles and mantles. Both have aspects of both settings. The way titles and lineage actually have empowerment especially for kings. Let alone emperors in Asoiaf. And how titles are more in ES due to mantles and playing archetypes. The moment he says more than just his name, but his actual triumphs and achievements alongside his true nature title of Dovahkiin might see him ascend in a way due to the nature of Asoiaf and its own cosmetology. This making more sense if you consider his possible nature as a for Asoiaf Dedric Prince. More so, is interesting of the significance as his Kalpa’s Last Dragonborn, while symbolically being the First Dragonborn here. There’s a lot of possibilities conceptually for sure. I definitely want to see a rebirth of the Dragonborn Empire and Imperial Soldiers except maybe more nord/Westeros coded. Maybe also see some more magical things start to naturally occur beyond that is organically here historically of the world, as his own nature & presence alongside history leaks and affects the lands and creatures.

Maleficarum

A prince 😂

Loved the chapter, though it just occurred to me that Westeros has a wild, rampaging dragon that burned a fuckton of nobles that they want to be put to death. Now, if only there was a certain dragonslayer that was on his way there...

duncke

Love that ending thought lmao. I do think it would be interesting to see what Orwynne and Soros think of Tamriel’s religions — the Daedra vs Aedra distinction and what each of the Princes embodies. Also that Ysmir has (presumably) directly interacted with nearly every one of them.

Soon(tm). ;)

Mannnnnn I really want more interactions between ymir and the dragons.

Originally, this chapter would have been the one where Ysmir crosses the sea, but fuckkkk it would just wind up being well over 20k, because I like to split and balance the scenes, where we see Ysmir crew > Targaryens > Ysmir crew, etc. Unless I get too hyped up in the next chapter, we should make landfall in Westeros.

Thanks for the chapter. It’s nice to see both storylines pushing forward. Myrs not too far from the seven kingdoms. They’re almost linked up.
