it depends on what region you are in, due to the fact that (as far as i know) the ISPs carved the map so that no1 would get on the "teritory" of another ISP there would be no competitor, no alternative for the people in a region. so if your internet is good than you have no reason to switch, if your internet is bad than you have no1 to switch over to. THIS is the reason why a bad ISP would not "lose" it's customers, kuz they can't go to a diferent ISP unless they relocate, and because they "cant" lose customers there is no reason for them to upgrade the internet ifrastructure quality :\

What's wrong with the American internet and the ISPs? I barely ever have shit go kaboom, and even if I have, the ISPs are quite helpful, usually (assuming it's a problem they can help with). But I see people REEEEEing about the internet and ISPs in America all the time online. Maybe there's some merit to this, if this keeps happening to you continuously.

I despise Spectrum so much, it was nothing but constant headaches with them for years. It was a great day when I moved and saw my new place had gigabit fiber lines hooked up.

Thats crazy. I know of 2 twitch streamers that have spectrum as well and they have problems all the time with their internet. Hope this gets resolved for you soon!

Sometimes u just need to reset the modem. I was getting only 8 mbps download, I was like wtf then after reset back close 200 mbps

When this is all over, try your best to switch to a different service provider. I had the default Spectrum router for the longest time until I decided to return it to get a basic modem instead, and purchase my own router. When the technician came over to install the modem, even he admitted that the routers Spectrum provides are garbage. I would have switched to a different provider already but I'm stuck with Spectrum since Fios is available in my area but not my building :(
