Only thing? Not really. There are many creatures that are similar to Hydra. But about that, Hydra has not "a lot", but it has 8 heads totally, similar to Yamata no Orochi from the Japanese mythology.

yeah I can see the 7 Samurai resemblance, and I can also see the Susanoo myth coming into play by the end. Especially since they want to get rid off Orochi in Onigashima while they are having the banquet.

It hasn't been confirmed in manga but I think Orochi's DF is related to the Yamata no Orochi, which, is a 8-headed mythical serpent in Japanese mythology. I really believe this to be the case since Orochi name itself is related to snakes or translates to snakes. So it won't be weird if Orochi had a mythical DF modelled after Yamata no Orochi the mythical beast or Snake which was slayed by Susanoo the sun god (I'm not sure if Susanoo is the sun god or not but Susanoo was the one who killed Orochi the eight headed snake). Another reason to believe this would be, them wanting to fight on onigashima while they are having the banquet. Since if you know how the Susanoo slayed Orochi then you'll know what I mean. but If you want me to tell you then I can but I won't now cause I don't want to spoil it.

dressrossa (whole cake too) was waaaaaaayyyyy more tiring and had a lot of annoying slow points where there were not in the manga(manga reader here). Wano has showed quite a development in many ways (until this point at least), pacing wise.

I liked the gambling scene with Zoro. It was technically cannon, but it happened offscreen in the manga. I think the two of them only talked about the previous night at the gambling hall. And I definitely agree with on the anime making things more exciting with the new animation.

I'm in the minority where I found the beginning of Wano kinda boring, in the manga, it's been more exciting in the anime due to the animation. they did really stretch out that Franky stuff, pretty accurate though. zoro gambling i think was new. as the show gets closer and closer to the manga, you'll see more of this stuff. i found the dressrosa arc super slow but ended strong. god the manga was so slow Oda had to say"i'll pick up the pace in dressrosa." if it weren't for luffy demolishing doflamingo, and the flashbacks i would think differently.
