After all, it's not the first time Oda has tried to make us hate a character before pulling a 180 (Robin, Pudding). On a side note I have a suggestion for a little something for you to check out. 2020-02-10 10:22:25 +0000 UTCEspecially when we are SHOWN how that dude basically told that crying lil girl "don't be naive, dumbass" (paraphrasing), it should be obvious that the dude's a fucking bad guy (which is given, since he benefited from Orochi's corruption, as his boss was Orochi's personal moneylender (I assume he's from some rly old banking clan or w/e, since it seems that he's the "funder" of Orochi's stuff, such as his takeover of Wano)), and the same can probably be presumed of the others.

Either that, or these rich ppl are scum that benefitted from one of those formerly mentioned Orochi's cronies, by being their underlings (the baldie DID say that Kyojiro or w/e his name is, was his boss, and Kyojiro is the moneylender of Orochi, so he'd obviously be in charge of shit like loanshark businesses etc). The only people who are innocent, are basically the poor people living outside the capital, and even then, most of the "middle class" people of the capital are still relatively innocent, unlike the rich ones who have those huge "mansions" and a fuckton of servants etc, like the dude seen here. If you ask me, he got what he deserved, especially after taking advantage of that little girl after what I presume, is her father/parents dying in some kind of an accident, by giving her a loan, and then suddenly coming to forcefully take everything, with giving her a oneliner "you shouldn't be naive, dumbass", basically, while cackling away with money.

It's just a word that doesn't exist in English lexicon, so people have to describe it using other "scandalous" words (i.e. prostitute, sex worker). But don't be mistaken, being an Oiran is a prestigious position to be in. Oirans are usually very talented in dance, music, performance, etc. and have high salaries. They are considered entertainers first before anything else and are treated as celebrities. There is a wider stigma in certain western cultures against sex workers, so it's usually seen as a derogatory thing.
