For the people who havent read the manga or rewatched op in the last 800 episodes i think the recap episodes are fine. Something just to be expected for longer anime. Its a good reminder for the new watchers sprinkled in with some new footage for us older watchers and readers.

Why do so many people misunderstand the phrase fifth emperor of the sea? There are only four emperors, so by saying the fifth has emerged it's basically saying that someone is actively a threat to them. Morgans is basically saying that Luffy is the closest to Yonko right now...and honestly, can you name anyone else as close as Luffy?

Well, to be fair, in the manga you could see the comma after the 1 to know that it was 1.5 billion instead of 150 million. It's only there for a couple seconds, so maybe they're trying to make some of the audience think they figured it out first. It's shown a few other times throughout the episode too.

Luffy is a legit Emperor of the sea. Even though he doesn't try to go Island to Island and take over he has so many allies to back him up. From The whole East Blue, to the giants in Little Garden and even the New Giant Pirates from Elbaf, Alabasta, Sakura, Skypea, Lola and her pirate crew, Fishman Island, Dressrosa, The Strawhat Grand Fleet, The Ninja-Pirate-Samurie-Minks alliance, not to mention some of the navy he has helped that don't see him as an actual threat like Smoker, Koby, Aokiji, and Fujitora it's no wonder why Luffy has the highest bounty in the anime plus his constant battles only makes him stronger and stronger.

This arc is so full of flashbacks, but it's an extremely good arc that can't be skipped...definitely recommend reading the manga for this arc though afterward.

Was an excellent decision to do a series flashback with this arc. If there was ever going to be a time for it within canon story it would be now. I'd imagine the rest of the series being straight forward main plot from here.

The pacing and flashbacks are a disgrace to the One piece verse. litterally the best arc to date in one piece the reverie became almost unbearable to watch because of it.

i still don't undestand why, when revealing the new bounty, they first showed it on top of the hat and then had brook say it, which just breaks the element of surprise that you would have gotten at the same moment as the other characters when brook says it. It pissed me off so much when i first saw it, especially since the previous episodes had been like 80% unnecessary flashbacks. Why couldn't they just stick to the manga at least for that scene. I feel kinda sad that anime onlys have to sit through this when it could be oh so much better. shame

Your reaction to these episodes are just as enjoyable as I'd hoped they would be. Now you have a choice to make. While what I consider to be the unofficial end of this arc, named the Reverie Arc, comes up in 8 episodes on 889, the true official end (and the start of the Land of Wano Arc) actually comes up on 891, 10 episodes from now. So you can either choose to continue at a 4 episode pace or increase it to 5 for the next couple of reactions, either way is good in their own ways. Whichever you choose to do I would recommend not doing the reaction to openings 19-21 until after the reaction after next, as the latest version of 21 still has some major spoilers. Looking forward to then.

One Pieces world building has so many factions, ideals and governmental systems that its just astounding how God Oda can just create an entire world with several moons orbiting it and over a hundred named locations with there own history. Everything in the show has some lore behind it and a meaning. With even the most unexpecting characters having important roles and backgrounds.

In the following arc i would highly recommend you to watch the One pace version or read the manga. The arc is really amazing and important unfortunately Toei animation ruined it with flashbacks trough the entire arc which made it unwatchable. All these flashbacks actually ruin the flow of the arc and all the important cannon content. I would say it is around 95% flashback and 5% cannon.
