Before, he only had one, the deconstruction arm, the one he used to, well, destroy everything. Now, he has accepted his brother's alchemy that he used to despise so much, and also has the other arm with the "reconstruction" alchemy. That's why he was able to "create" those pillars from the ground, and why King Bradley was so surprised.
