Well this is why we love the characters in One Piece. They never get an easy ride full of joy. They struggle and struggle and struggle, and it makes it just all the better if/when they get though it. Imo Oda understands this 100% and that is why One Piece is so great.

oda doubled down on sanji's back story, him starving on a rock wasn't enough apparently, remember duval's iron mask and sanji's reaction to it, could be coincidence, but i think oda had this all planned out

the seducing woods are terrifying, the flowers the trees even the ground moves round and round, you think your going straight but your not, you can't trust your sense of direction. I think the only one of the crew who could navigate the seducing woods is zoro because with his bad sense of direction it wouldn't matter what the flowers and trees did he'd still get lost end up at the sunny somehow

You could argue that Oda planned Sanji's Back strory since Jaya at least, when Sanji knew Noland the liar book because he's from the North Blue, and he kept throwing hints every now and then. Oda is a genius.

That's the funny thing about this arc (but not "ha, ha" funny), every time you think you know how it's gonna go it changes on you. The people, their personalities, the plot: This arc plays on your expectations ,and just you think you know how it's gonna go it subverts them, leaving you even more lost and dismayed than before. In fact you could say that the Seducing Woods itself is symbolic of the Whole Cake arc. Having said that, your reaction to Sanji's past is exactly as I pictured it and it reflects my own. Now for the next 12 episodes you'll either want to do them as 4 groups of 3 episodes or 3 groups of 4. Each has their own awkward stopping points, but that really can't be helped. Whatever you do, however, you want to make sure that you end one group of reactions at episode 806 and start the next on 807. This is really important, though I cannot say why for fear of spoilers. This is really getting good, I can hardly wait for the next video.

Not that it really matters, but the crew is getting lost coz the whole forest is everchanging with the land and trees constantly shifting positions to keep them stuck. Don't think I saw you catch that.
