Also, make sure you watch Heart of Gold before you watch Gold, for reasons that will become obvious once you do.

But you'll probably want to watch it anyway because of who gets the spotlight in those episodes. I'd suggest just reacting to that arc (It's only 3 episodes) and then watching Heart of Gold.
