I think it's usually easier reading than hearing it. Sometimes, with the pronunciation, you can't catch everything. Not my case with FMAB dub, though. It was easy to understand all of it.

Ignore the haters in the comments, FMA Brotherhood is a fantastic anime with deep themes. I’m on the last 10 episodes, and I’m on the edge of my seat. Trust the people who voted for it, they’re the same ones who picked HxH!

Code Geass is not that bad, politics, mecha and supernatural mixed with a charismatic anti-hero lead makes for a good show, the art to me is off putting but the story and the main lead is good it got a bit weaker towards the end but over all pretty good. FMAB on the other hand maybe because it's so mainstream that when I finally gave in and watched it, it didnt live up to the hype, maybe if I had watched it the same time I watched all my childhood anime I might have liked it but I just can't get into it, I tried a bunch of times, maybe I'll try to get into it again when SMF watches it but from what I've seen with FMA/B I highly doubt it. My dream animes that SMF should watch would be Paranoia Agent, Black Lagoon, Serial Experiment Lain,welcome to the NHK, Terror in resonance and many more but I can only dream :/ hopefully someday she'll watch at least one of them.

Code Geass is so meh in my opinion it's a great anime but compared to something like FMAB I cannot see why people would want her to watch it over this. Other than maybe it's been too many times ;)

Would have preferred Code Geass over FMAB as there aren't a lot of reactors who watch CG, FMAB on the other hand has been watched by a lot of people. I dont get the hype over FMAB, It's good but its not that good. Oh well, hopefully she'll finish FMAB quickly.

Entitled to your own opinion, but in terms of dubbing the FMA dub was great. There are lots of dubs that miss the mark, this was not one of them. And plenty of people think the same all around. Dub is a much better experience, but that's just my opinion.

In my opinion you should start with the original Fullmetal Alchemist from around 2004 and then watch Brotherhood. Because the beginning of Brotherhood seems to have been made on the assumption that the viewer had already seen the first one.

In my opnion its probably the most overated anime ever, i did not enjoy it all. Its just my opinion though. Hope you have a different experience with it smf, nothing but love <3

This one would be a lot better, action + comedy. You don't even have to love or be familiar with boxing to love this. The manga also get very real and dark as well.

Yeah, I don't usually recommend dubs, Jamie, but Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Yu Yu Hakusho are two very rare exceptions. The dubs are such high quality, that they are actually BETTER than the original Japanese (sounds crazy, I know, but these two pull it off).

The dub is far from amazing, in fact no english language anime dub has ever come close to being amazing and I'm not a snob whomthinks japanese is always the way to go, there are some great french, german and italian dubs but good american voice actors don't do anime.
