Toxicity in the HXH

There really is. the hardcore fans have a large section of fans that think HxH is the only anime that involves complexity, and also that only certain people can watch it. Not even Togashi's best anime story if we're being honest, and I'll die on that hill. It's an amazing story, but they act like elitist twats

Hxh fanbase is fairly toxic but that goes for many fanbases in the anime community and communities in general. I hope you don't stop reacting to HxH because this is the only show I've watched in its entirety that you react to. I starting Jojo's and OP but both (especially OP) are gonna take a while. So please continue to watch and enjoy it because it makes me happy to see people react to anime that I like.

Because if she made a mistake, it would carry across all three episodes and spoil the reaction to very important story points. Whereas if there were two, someone would have corrected her early and the mistake wouldnt carry on to other episodes.

Ignore those people. For some reason, some people who are caught up to a series try to act like know it alls to the people that aren't, and be rude and make fun of people who's theories that don't come to fruition and don't quite understand things (that may or may not be explained later). A lot of these people often love to spoil (often using words such as 'hints' and 'hype' as an excuse.) My advice to you is to keep a backlog if you really want to read comments, and then when you do read them, just immediately delete/block at the first sign of rudeness or ill intent. Also, viewers should not take things so seriously and get offended. It's just a pure reaction. Sure it may feel better to rant and rave in anger, but it's not gonna solve anything. Grow up and act civil.

I've learned that in life, if you have the ability to choose between doing something that makes you happy, or something you dislike, but feel obligated to do, bite the bullet and do what makes you happy, no matter the consequences. So if you aren't enjoying doing reactions to HxH due to the community, then stop doing them. People aren't entitled to your time, and if you'd rather enjoy the series on your own, that's okay. Same with other series you've never got around to finishing. If you don't enjoy the series, don't force yourself to continue. You're lucky because you're doing a job where you're your own boss and can decide what you do, so take advantage of that! Don't feel pressured into doing reactions you don't want to do. I'm sure any real HxH fans would rather have you love the show they love, than see you grow to hate it because of a few jerks, even if that means they don't get to see your reactions anymore.

Okay ima say this honestly because a lot of people might benefit from this . I love SMF to death . She’s the reason why i even created a patreon . Love her content and her . HOWEVER , i personally decided to not watch her hunter x hunter reactions on my own . Not because she’s stupid like people are being rude and saying , but because i know the type of story HxH is , unless you are pausing , rewinding , rereading things a few times that were said , actually giving genuine time to take in & process what’s goin on , then a lot of the times people are gonna MISS a lot of important things in the series . Me being a viewer to someone’s else’s reaction , i know ima get frustrated when things are missed . It’s natural . Sometimes it feels as if the person is just looking at the pretty pictures on the monitor and not even READING the subtitles that slid across the screen and it can be frustrating as heck especially when what’s being said is crucial to the story . So i understand why people are upset , but you have to just make the choice whether you wanna watch her react to it or not . I made the choice not to . There’s no need for animosity . I personally like her one piece reactions more because he story is a bit easier to follow & there’s a lot of emotionally driven plot points and SMF connects with & understands emotional things more so than she does dark dense plots wit heavy dialogue .

I think that people are mad because Komugi is actually a central character to this story arc, and the mistake took away from appreciating the true events of the show. HxH is my second favorite anime/manga, only loses to One Piece .. and that was just the problem, OP is incredible and can overshadow any show, if the person attends to watch daily like you, you can not assimilate the right how good HxH is, and the fans know how good this anime is, that's why they get upset by the reaction not being the way they wanted it, because OP is incomparable and when the person is going deep into the story it is difficult to give the total attention to another work. You shouldn't take comments like that too seriously in my opinion. No matter what you do, there will always be people who agree and disagree with you. I think you shouldn't censor these type of incidents too much despite of it being easy and rather just let it be. It can divide the viewers quite a bit. At the end of the day there will always be more people who are supporting what you do rather than being negative and leaving bad comments. That being said negative comments aren’t completely irrelevant if they are giving a constructive criticism in a proper manner. I’ve seen this happening on other channels too and usually it’s lead to an improvement in the future. Also seems like my comment was one of those “toxic” ones that got deleted. I kind of wrote half an essay there and the beginning of it might’ve been influenced a bit by emotions so it’s understandable but I did it in a respectful manner in my opinion and just tried to clear the confusion. Maybe it was just the toxic replies in it, who knows. Anyway I like all the OP, HxH and JoJo reactions with their ups and downs regardless. Don’t let it get to you, you are doing well all things considered^^.

I think the reason people were so quick to point it out to her instead of letting her figure it out by herself is that it was causing her to not pay attention to everything else she said or did. For example, when the girl starts talking about how she came up with the strategy and why she hesitated, which is a great scene from the show, SMF might not have appreciated it as much because in her mind it was Killua saying this.

I mean I agree that the comments are rude and dumb even more for patreon comments but what is the matter with the number of episodes you are doing ? It just a theory. (It did surprise me when SMF react that girl was Killua and octopus guy.) It doesn't matter if it right or wrong but part of the experience of it. Everyone has come up with right and wrong theories on all shows/movies/books all the time. They could be way off or on the money. It is like SMF theory that Ace was Luffy's Dad. The show in the end will say if theory was correct or way off.

It's easy to fixate on the toxic comments because of how vocal they are; they immediately grab your attention because of how aggressive they sound, while other comments don't have that same sting and are easier to gloss over. But when you look at it from an overview, particularly in this post, you can see just how much in the minority these extremists are. Don't let a few loud runts of the litter represent the energy of the entire pack, they bark loud simply because they have few others to bark with.

Lol lets be real, most people watch HxH just for the fights. I know I couldnt care less about the story when I watched. It's just a knee jerk reaction for anime lovers to get offended when one of their favorite characters (or waifu) is being mistaken for someone else and not taken seriously. This is the same for any other anime community. I'd say just don't let it get to you. Laugh it off. Admit you made an error. And move on. Most of us don't want to spoil you on any series you're watching but there's no way to ensure a handful of morons wont come through leaving reckless comments on any platform. Nevertheless, HxH fans exist where if you say anything slightly bad or don't praise HxH as the masterpiece it is, then you're in for being cursed at for not believing that HxH is that great of a show. I stand by my reaction to your theory bc it really was quite silly and there was no logic behind it. We all reacted the way we did bc of how important get character is (which is also not a spoiler bc the narrator made this known, but you missed that bc you were questioning if she was killua) I really truly hope you don't drop HxH over this, maybe you should either take a little breather or just watch so many episodes in advance and then drop them periodically. The only reason I said anything is bc I felt your idea that the girl might be killua was hindering you from the information that you were being given. Reason being is bc if you were taking it all in then that theory should have never been considered in the first place. But this is all just my opinion really, please don't take it too hard. Don't take what any of us say too hard, the HxH community is very passionate and this character is very important to a lot of us. Wait... so what was the theory? I’m missing something here. And did people call her dumb or something? If so I’m so sick of that crap from people! SMF is experiencing everything for the first time. As things are going along we have all thought of some stupid stuff. (aka goten being goku black for example) the fact that she gets stuff wrong proves her reactions are authentic and real. If she was getting everything right all the time it would not be fun to watch her journey as she watches. If they want in depth analysis, and breaking everything down as they watch in super detail, then they need to go elsewhere. I personally enjoy seeing SMF having fun watching and coming up with fun theory’s that I personally never thought of, that’s the fun of it. Sorry rant over, just tired of people being jerks to her and ruining her experience.

HxH gets gatekept a lot of times by toxic & vocal fans of the series who place it on this untouchable pedestal. this is my 2 cents on the toxic commenters: they're a vocal minority. the vast vast vast majority of your patreons either didn't think anything of what you said, or were constructive about it in the comments, but the ragers in the comments being toxic were extremely vocal about it. most people leave comments if they have a point to make (whether it's constructive or toxic), but that shouldn't detract from the fact that they make up a small portion of your patreons, and the vast majority of your fans are positive about what you do and how you do it. don't let the vocal minority drown out the people who love what you do. i for one would be devastated if you stopped HxH :( keep up the good work and i look forward to what the future of this arc holds in store for you!

Honestly I get why you could be dissapointed, but you're overreacting a little bit. It's just anime, there's always some toxic people commenting here and there with and without reason. As for 2 episodes - it's your call of course, but it will be better to watch it without too much interruptions, so maybe not 3 eps 2 times per week, but 2 eps 3 times? They are literally the equivalent of that friend who forces you to watch their favorite movie with them, and they watch you the entire time to make sure you don't misunderstand anything, expecting you to come to the same reaction that they had. They'll interrupt the movie continuously asking if you understood what just happened. It's really dumb, and completely ruins the event of actually trying to watch something for the first time.

i think it may be best if you binge watch it but only release 2 episodes of reaction at a time. At least no one can spoil it.

Hxh is my favorite anime of all time but if you wanna stop watching it that would be fine. HxH isn't for everyone and i have a feeling you will misunderstand a lot of other things in the episodes to come so people will continue to be mean to you.

I didn't get to watch the reactions yet, but seems to be way too many rude people popping up in general these days. Definitely not helping with the social stigma that gets directed at anime fans. It's a very enjoyable series imo, sad to see people ruining it for you. I hope you continue though, its worth the ride and know that there are people who appreciate and understand. The vocal minority does ruin the fun for everyone though.

Please don't take it to heart, its only the small minority of people who are actually toxic, and if u think about why they are acting this way just try to think of it as their passion for the show, some of these people might think of that girl as their favourite character from the show so they just get a little upset and overact when they watch their favourite reactor not see the character they love the same way they do. hopefully you still keep watching HxH i love your reactions and i know most people love your quirky theories, keep it up!

Yeah it’s really unfortunate. I hope you can still enjoy the show, despite the jerks who don’t understand that they’re ruining your experience. I suggested 3 episodes per reaction last time but if it’s better for you to do 2 episodes per video, then that’s totally okay, if you think that would help. It’s sad that people are like that. Do whatever you feel helps you enjoy the anime the most, because it’d be really unfortunate for your experience to be ruined.

Thats upsetting. Im not watching your HxH reactions, I'm not as big of a fan of it as everyone else who loves shonen seems to be, so I haven't paid attention to the comments in your posts. Are the negative posts mainly from Patreon or Youtube. Also, any of you on Patreon trolling, wtf, you obviously enjoy SMF. why go out of your way to pay and troll her?

People who are super fans about their "greatest deepest show ever" can be real jerks when someone's experience is even the slightest bit different from their own. They need to understand that EVERYONE watching something for the first time is going to make assumptions and it's only natural they won't always be what the show is really doing. But if they'd have a little patience eventually context given from future episodes will make sure anyone will understand what's really going on. I'm so sorry the toxic fanbase has hurt your enjoyment of the show. They don't realize how good they have it when other reaction channels usually do a single episode a week for most series, and you provide soooo much more content then others do and so much faster. They also can't even bother to think a little and realize how hard it is for a reactor to not only watch and understand a show but at the same time form thoughts and provide verbal feedback hence the whole "reacting" part. They can't expect someone to do all that at the same time not not miss at least something. They've also all probably seen the show like 5 times and have forgotten that on their first watch they probably missed a lot.

It might be best to just not read any of the comments from now on, even if people are giving you explanations on what's going on it might not be worth it since people are being jackasses. If it helps it really isn't the biggest spoiler. This arc is goat material for SO many other moments. I had a feeling this would happen once you went on your theory at the end. Prolly you should keep those to yourself from now on... Man you sure were spot on tho. I would have thought you were already spoiled by it the moment you realized it.
