I HIT MY GOAL!!!

Thank you everyone for supporting me on Patreon! After this coming Payout I can finally get a better computer! I will still keep my old one and that should give me double the exporting space!

*I am surprised my computer is still running at this point with how many technical issues it has*

THANK YOU GUYS SOOOO SOOO MUCH!

Also if you have a good recommendation on a computer that would be great!! I am currently using a macbook pro. I do like Macs but for streaming and things it is very slow.

I HIT MY GOAL!!! I HIT MY GOAL!!!

Hello! I have a 1060 and it's perfect for casual gaming. Unless you're a hardcore gamer there's no need to get the 1080! I run CS:GO, DOOM 2016, PAYDAY 2, PUBG, and other huge games just fine! I don't see you as the huge gaming type so there' s no need to spend hundreds of dollars on this, unless you're planning to play extreme games like Crysis.

I do a lot of professional editing, so I'll try and lend my advice on editing and exporting more efficiently. A lot of people just focus on getting a strong graphics card, but with editing it's best to have a strong CPU as well. If you're trying to save money, I would recommend getting a Windows, since they both use the same hardware anyway, and I've actually had better speeds with PC. A lot of people would tell you to get a Desktop so you can upgrade it every few years, but if you're more into laptops there are a lot of options that are just as strong as some desktops nowadays. For the CPU I would recommend at least an 8th gen i7 processor. For the Graphics Card I would recommend at least a GTX1070 (if you want to game as well, get at least a gtx1080). You're not editing entire movies, you just need faster export times and this should help a lot. Last thing, if you're buying a laptop or prebuilt desktop, always look up reviews first!

Congralutaions!!! XD

Awesome! As a lot of people have said before a PC running Windows 10 is recommended as they are usually more powerful than Apple's products for what you pay and have way more apps and functionality with things like gaming available. Also, they are highly customizable and upgradable usually so you can add things like hard drives or SSD's for more space

Congrats on hitting your goal!

You are welcome keep making reaction videos

Abdikadir

Well that's a great GPU it'll be a question of her budget. For a good video editing PC I'd think a minimum of $1000 to last her for a while. That's bare bones though.

Brian

As others have already said, go for a PC. It's simply better in every way. You could make a monster by putting 2 of these beauties on a PC https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814126248&ignorebbr=1&source=region&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Video+Card+-+Nvidia-_-N82E16814126248&gclid=CjwKCAjw7MzkBRAGEiwAkOXexLkaBrd8LEureVR_K_7QKri-EALbKP65elJtpTkYWr7RHjW19T0zyhoC7S0QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds. If you are going for a laptop, I'd recommend the Legion Y7000. It's identical to the Helios 300 in specs, looks better, and has better cooling. The Helios 300 does have the better refresh rate though (144hz vs 60hz).

Fabian

I would love to see you do some cosplay here.

you're welcome

Dimi

would 100% recommend to get a pc instead of a laptop, it may be daunting but trust me it will be worth it

Weedzel

If you're getting a PC, I'd recommend you build one (or ask someone you know to help build one) since a custom computer can go a long way if you've done enough research into it. If you haven't built one before, it might help to have a pro give you a hand instead of buying one straight out of the box.

FrofiFly

It all depends on the budget. If I had not been in another country, I would have assembled a decent machine(((

Alex D Sinn

Congratulations. Dell is a great company for computers but the can be very pricey.

One piece is out there

Also, be aware that some jostling can happen during shipping of a computer. (Unless you're putting it together once it all comes in.) I ordered a prebuilt desktop, and there was an issue with one of the ram sticks because of how much it was jostled around during shipping.

Richie Roberts

If you're keeping your laptop anyway, I would highly recommend getting a desktop for all your creator content needs (i.e. streaming, exporting, editing, etc.). Your laptop will still be useful for reactions or for taking with you wherever you go, but you can't beat the power and upgradable nature of a desktop. They're not too difficult to build yourself, but if you're really intimidated by that there are a lot of prebuilt desktop nowadays that are as good as those you can build yourself. Additionally, the charge to build your own pc at most computer stores isn't too outrageous either.

I would recommend Origin PC. Streamers and video editors have been able to team up with Origin PC to get custom built computers specifically for their needs. They will help you build a top quality PC that will significantly reduce your render times. https://www.originpc.com/

suavecollects32

Yep, and even the slightly more compact ones aren't that much more compact (still a god-send compared to bulky ones), and they cost at least a bit more than a bulky gaming laptop with the same specs.

Akachi

Id get a desktop computer not just for the better speed but for better navigation (a nice marble mouse works wonders). Youre used to it by now, but I dont know how you are able to edit videos using a touchpad lol. Whether its a laptop or pc, get one with either a Ryzen or an i7 CPU for fast speeds. It wont exhaust itself during the editing process and rendering.

Bustersword88

Too many good options on hardware front. In general though, a desktop will give you more bang for your buck than a laptop. A gaming laptop is barely a laptop anyways. This is coming from a gaming laptop owner. They are a pain in the butt to lug around.

GS

Awesome! That should make editing a lot easier for you! I had to do the same for streaming, recently.

Richie Roberts

i also had cyber power pc, they drop a lot in price on black friday and veterans day. Big sales. Then i manually upgraded depending on what i need.

Mik

What's your budget? And a laptop or a PC?

Jin

Congratulations!! Get a pre-built gaming desktop, they are as cheap as self-build nowadays. Here are two GOOD PCs that are definitely worth considering, but they are EVEN better as a guideline on what kind of specs you should expect using x dollars. NOTE: generally the same tier ryzen cpus are better for rendering (e.g. r7 2700x: x means overclockable), intel cpus are better for gaming (e.g. i7 8700K: K means overclockable). In the two links I provided, I'd recommend the ryzen cpu pc considering you probably gonna use the pc to render more (it's also cheaper and has a better GPU). CyberpowerPC isn't the only pre-build pc manufacture/brand/company. There are many others, but generally you can just use amazon or newegg.com to find a good desktop deal. Note newegg desktop deals are generally only good for HIGH-END PCs, while amazon is RNG. PS. If a gaming PC only has 8GB RAM, may wanna add another 8GB (not too sure how much video editing needs tbh), some sites like the links I provide down here will allow you to add 8GB RAM before you buy it. Some sites you will have to buy the PC first and then order exactly the same type of RAM with the same clockspeed separately, and install it (maybe with your friend's help) yourself. https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/CyberPower-Z370-i7-Configurator https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/VR-Ready-Syber-M-GTX-1660-Ti

Akachi

Need to get someone to build you one. I'm getting ready to build my own for the first time.

Brian

Pcpartpicker.com is a good website if you want to build your own pc it tells you which parts are compatible with each other or not. really good website.

Gali

Congrats and hope this helps. I would stay away from laptops and stick with desktop just because you will have alot more options and more power in the system. If you have a friend that builds desktops talk with them. I have a micro itx the size of a console that's a beast. If not I would stick with Asus desktop imo.

Blackbeard

Oh yeah and congratulations^^

Oliver Segelhorst

If you don’t want to build one yourself, digital storm has good budget pre built gaming PCs.

SpacedOut

There is a Mac Mini you could check out. https://www.apple.com/lae/mac-mini/ or if you want to go big IMAC Pro https://www.apple.com/lae/imac-pro/

Congratulations Jamie!! πŸ˜ƒ Man I'm in need of a computer myself lol xD At least you'll be able to edit, access, & record more smoothly now! 😌

Savage Luffy

I think a strong gaming desktop would be nice cuz they have good specs and storage space and its quite easy to switch when they get full too. Good for recording and streaming.

maabdii

Lol just thinking about me building myself a working PC scares me xD

Mechi

grats , you deserve it , happy for ya ;)

Congrats for reaching your goal to get your new Computer

Muhd Solehin

Take your time and make a list of absolute features you want supported, then people can break down what you should be looking for and the price ranges

Nydrin

I would recomend a Acer Predator Helios 300, it's a really good gaming laptop for a good price. Or you could build a PC, there are some good guides depending on your budget

I don't know much about computers but congrats I'm gonna continue supporting u coz you're a genuine reactor but also honestly you're just an awesome person

Mizanul Alam
