I do like your reactions, but man... When I watched these episode it hit me so hard. This is slavery, raceism we're talking about, which is a big part of op. A reflection on the Roger Pirates (spoiler free!) Shanks, who is a Yonko, one of the four strongest pirates that rule over the New World, was just a mere deckhand on Rogers' ship. Gol D. Roger is the only pirate to have ever found the One Piece, sailing the entirety of the Grand Line including the New World. Silvers "Dark King" Rayleigh is the first-mate of the Rogers pirates, essentially Roger's "Zoro" if you will. Garp, one of the stronger and eldest/wisest Marines considers Rayleigh a considerable threat. Gives you a sense of just how strong the Roger Pirates are. Dang.

This is the darkest thing about the One Piece world, the Celestial Dragons are the worst people in that world. What you saw when Luffy punched one of them was the greatest satisfying moments ever in One Piece. I think that's an ideal Luffy most likely got from his dad, Dragon. But no one knows.
