Yeah, the sad thing about Brook is that every time he makes an inappropiate joke, or he's behaving in a funny weird way, there's that bittersweet feeling about it, when you realize that he's just basically insane by now, after spending the last 50 years alone.

Just so you know, the disease that killed Captain Yorki is the same disease that Nami got from Little Garden that almost killed her. Dr. Kureha said during that arc that long ago there was no cure for it, so it goes to show how far ahead Brooks backstory was being set up ever since the crew entered the grand line meeting laboon.

Jamie, as you enjoyed the Thriller Bark Arc, there were naysayers regarding the arc. So as you can see you can't listen to people's opinions too too much. You experience it for yourself and see then you can make your own judgement because people have different opinions and what they like!! :) Congrats on making it this far.. keep it up!!

You should check out the English dub of this. The song sounds pretty powerful when heard in a language you can understand. And, they did a great job of it too. Also, love the way this backstory was done and how he pretty much shared his backstory with everyone at the end (as far as we know, the straw hats really don't know about each other's backstories outside of maybe Nami and Chopper). I love how bittersweet it was, cause while it was a sad backstory and kinda hard to open up, the happiness of knowing Laboon is alive and waiting for him, and finding friends who share the same goal of re-uniting with him too was such a happy moment for him. I mean, outside of seeing the straw hats for the first time and getting his shadow back, this was really his first moment of true happiness for like over 50 years.
