2023-07-25 11:45:03 +0000 UTCSome stuff is a little weird with Fairy Tail though. Many of the "filler" episodes are actually based off of one shot omake chapters by Hiro Mashima. So they are canon chapters made by the mangaka but they aren't numbered chapters so places list them as filler.

2023-07-13 16:33:26 +0000 UTCWhenever you finish the anime, you should rewatch all of the openings. Some of the earlier openings hit differently once you know the context from later in the series such as the Natsu/Zeref shots and the Mavis/Zeref shots.

I've seen people who argue that light novels are filler and people who argue light novels are canon. Some manga volumes include omakes, 4-Koma panels, and side stories that don't advance the story; would you consider all of that to be canon? I've seen people argue that the manga is canon because the author wrote it, so what about when the author is heavily involved with an anime-only arc (maybe they wrote it, maybe they designed the characters, maybe they gave the anime staff an outline to work with). My point is that "canon or filler" isn't a black and white topic.
