It is believed to have been a part of North America, specifically the northeastern coast of Canada, although the exact location remains a topic of debate among historians. The name "Vinland" is derived from the Old Norse word "Vinland" or "Vineland," which translates to "land of wine" or "land of grapes." An btw if we consider the discovery from a European perspective (not like the Polynesians), there is evidence that show that Norse explorers were the first Europeans to reach North America, not Christopher Columbus. According to the Icelandic sagas, particularly the Saga of the Greenlanders and the Saga of Erik the Red, Vinland was discovered by Norse explorer Leif Erikson (The guy telling the story of his travels to Thorfinn when he was a child).
