The samurai have all been talking about wanting to die and are willing to throw away their lives in a fight. Even Kin'emon and Kiku are here and able to be saved but they instead wanted to die. Usopp coming here and calling them out and telling them to instead do whatever they can to live works so well. Sure, I wish that Kin'emon surviving would have come around in a better way (maybe just found by chance by Usopp instead of the legs thing) but this scene with Usopp is worth it.
