For the beginning half of the movie I was very confused because I felt like a lot of it was very similar to the show and questioning if I was remembering things correctly.
Halfway through the movie when the story began to change I feel like is when the movie really picked up.
HOWEVER, I am a little sad that there isn't much focus on Rin this movie since she was one of my Favorites from UBW and I am not a HUGE fan of Sakura.
But I am excited to watch Part 2.
Also... RIP LANCER.... ;( WHY HIM, WHY IS IT ALWAYS HIM!!!

Maybe you should have rewatched UBW to refresh your memory of what happened? I'm having a hard time enjoying this reaction when it's more like a "iM cOnFuSeD" compilation, when nothing is confusing and it's actually very easy to follow and understand.

2022-12-16 05:44:32 +0000 UTCJust think of all of FATE/Stay Night as a hentai game with multiple endings. The difference between each version is the female love interest. You mentioned early in your UBW reactions about all your Ships, but all of the are real. The story contains all of the same context and frame work but progress to support each relationship. The orignal series that came out in 2006 was cenered on the Saber ship. UBW was Rin. The movies are Sakura. As much as I like these movies I do prefer UBW, but will refrain from sayin why until you've seen them all. Also as side note since you were a little surprised by the more erotic scenes, remember that you've only seen TV series. They don't need to be so reserved in a movie so this is closer to how the others should have played out instead of dancing aaround the subjects

2022-10-12 11:02:41 +0000 UTCFate has a visual novel game that is online and this movie, UBW, and Fate 2006 all follow one of the 3 routes from the game Fate 2006 follows the Saber route, UBW follows the Rin route (my favorite route because I love Rin), and this movie Heaven’s Feel follows the Sakura route.

UBW is not the main fate all three routes are canon. in every route we learn more things for example fate route (saber is the heroine) is the introduction and we learn about the holy grail war and about saber. UBW is the "servants" route (all except saber because fate route and rider (rider is super important in heaven's feel )) (Rin is the heroine) where we learn about the servants and about Shirou's future if he keeps his ideals . Heaven's feel is the route of best girl Sakura and also Rin's, Rider's, and Kirei's route (Sakura is the heroine) I will not spoil but this is objectively the best route (in the visual novel , and the movies but the movies because of the limited time they cut some of the things that happen ) .

2022-10-01 20:04:12 +0000 UTCFate Stay/Night was originally a visual novel with three routes/timelines. Fate focuses on Saber, UBW focuses on best girl, and Heaven’s Feel focuses on Sakura. I like UBW the best but the movies are pretty.

2022-10-01 19:55:34 +0000 UTCYe I can attest that it was pretty excruciating having to wait for the second and third movie multiple years and when they eventually came out it felt so nice finally being able to watch them. They were definitely worth the wait.

You don't have to wait like the others whom had to wait for years so your experience with Rin is very fresh so maybe that's why you are loyal towards her. Rin is of course best girl but Sakura has that very dark past that attracts people to her.

2022-10-01 14:38:34 +0000 UTCNice reaction!!!, for people who don't know about the heaven's feel route, might be a bit confusing at the start of the movie, more so if you have watched UBW, so it was kind of funny seeing you doubt your memories at the start of the movie, but yeah after the path diverges the story is very different. I don't know about the US but in Japan all 3 movies were screened on movie theatres, and all I can say is watching those fight animations on the big screen is a super nice experience!!! 😀. Hope you enjoy the other 2 movies. Again thanks for the reactions 👍

2022-10-01 11:20:26 +0000 UTCit's funny how even in the discription you mentioned how you were sad at the shift away from Rin to Sakura, so now you know how it feels to read a Visual Novel (the original source material for the Fate shows and movies) . That's always a struggle when reading one seeing your favorite characters who you just read a great story about taking a back seat for the new focus character whose route (story line) that you are now on.
