jobless is very much a slow burn series about a shitty dude with a ton of regrets gets a second chance and slowly over time unlearns his bad habits and h-game understandings about what love and women are. it's a story about actually maturing and learning to love "people" not cgi h-game girls. but if you get to episode 8-9 when the story starts to kick in it really kicks off and gets much better. it's just the beginning setup that is the hardest to get through. still a master class in story telling / world building / character arcs and development.

I get it, I’m just saying because you’re constantly reminded he’s a 40 year old creeper and really. He’s mentally like 50 at that point. When he’s trying to hook up with basically children it’s uncomfortable as hell.

i mean theres a deeper meaning behind that.. like you notice how he calls them mom and dad when hes talking out loud and when hes talking in his head he calls them paul and zenith.

Its obvious its because they are not dumb and they can understand that the show is not promoting that kind of behavior but is instead showing it as a point of a character flaw that he has to overcome with time. Its almost always better story telling to show instead of tell.

I think it wouldn’t feel so uncomfortable if we didn’t constantly hear his 40 year old voice and see what he looks like. It just has some insanely uncomfortable scenes when you know his age vrs some girls age. Still an amazing show with great animation

Nah it was in the light novel and Sylphie father was mad at her and Paul thought it was a perfect time for laws to step in as a father, because Paul saw that Rudy was the one that has been raising sylphy more than her actual father and was one of the main reasons why he separated those two

Well he is horrible by any decent modern standards, the sad thing is by the standards of Asuran nobility (which he was born and raised as before he ran away) he is actually pretty decent.

Could it be that that's actually only in the Web Novel ? I don't remember reading about that, especially not at this point in the novel. Later on they mention that Slyphie went out of control when she learned that Rudy was gone but not that she tried to kill Paul.

lol ive watched quite a few girl reactors and im surprised none of them dropped the show. i personally find it funny and interesting to have a total deviant recluse as a main character, because this is how a mfer really would act if he stayed inside for 20 years since he was 14 and got reincarnated as a kid. doesn't sugarcoat things.

i mean yeah paul is a fuckboy, but he isn't a horrible father. especially considering how different rudy is from a normal kid lol

funny thing they didn't add in the anime was the fact that when paul was putting rudy in the carriage sylphy saw this and started attacking paul with magic that would have killed a normal person, but paul managed to knock her out.
