I think one thing that we miss, seeing things from Subaru's perspective is that a lot of the characters look so strong, so seeing Emilia so vulnerable seems so odd. Also at the end Subaru trips over his own guts, love Elsa coming back and being like "I told you I'd be back" Episode 6: Re:zero always has these moments where both sides are right. Subaru has the gift of hindsight and knows Emilia struggles with the trial, but of course, Emilia wants to be able to try. I think last season showed how differently people can react to Subaru based on the circumstances, so it really comes down to what changed between the loops that Garfiel is acting so differently. The return to the mansion has a lot of fun moments. Cute Petra, and the chemistry between Frederica and Ram. Quick note, the mabeast we saw in the mansion was actually seen in Frozen Bond movie, eaten by the black venom. The last scenes are incredibly well done, and the VA sells the pain/disgust that Beatrice saved him at the end.

After dying he was able to quickly figure out where his checkpoint was and took what he thought the best course of action( calming Emilia down and then also offering to do the trial in her place), and when that didn’t work he immediately shifted his attention to the attack on the mansion. When Elsa shows up he was more battle ready and used shamac really well (even though his gate is fucked lol). “I feel so pathetic” isn’t a complaint anymore, instead he’s using as motivation to be better. And when He thought he was going to die, he tried prying for information from Elsa instead of just standing there and screaming. Dudes got it made, beautiful development *chefs kiss

The "shut-in" Elsa is referring to is Beatrice, not Subaru (a lot of people assume it's Subaru but really, I'd say Subaru is far from a "shut-in" in the new world). Stick around for the ED in episode 7, there's an after-credits scene!

2021-01-01 12:32:12 +0000 UTCSubaru didn't repeat exactly same thing to Garfiel. Just after reset, Subaru says that he passed in trial and Garfiel didn't saw Emilia trying a lot of times like before, to accept Subaru plan. Small changes can have a lot of impact.
