Interests in a Discord Server for Commissions?
Added 2023-06-11 16:39:31 +0000 UTCIs there any interest in moving commissions from Patreon to Discord? I've been playing around with tools and settings in Discord and I think it could work well for commission openings. Moving could solve the problem of not being notified in time as Patreon's app is pretty unreliable.
My main concerns with discord:
• I'm personally not a chatty person nor good at moderation so I've avoided creating any and all forms of group chats. I'm concerned that I won't be very active besides commission openings.
• Discord access would only be gained via Patreon.
• This would require commissioners to now have both a Patreon and a Discord, which feels a little complicated just to commission art.
• Commissions would no longer be first come first serve. Instead a give-away bot would be used to pick slots at random.
• Communication for commissions might move from email to Discord DMs. I prefer email as it gives everyone a bit more time to make decisions. But I've definitely gotten the sense that DMs are preferred and email is a bit outdated.
If I go ahead with this it won't be until later in July or August as I want to make sure everything is set up properly. So let me know if you're interested in a Discord server or have any thoughts or concerns!
