Last two polls got us a person who can boost spells and have psychic chats with animals. Is this person a righteous crusader or benevolent monk? Maybe they're just kind of a dick?
The way alignments work is that each deity is either Holy or Infernal. In addition, any deity is either Righteous or Wicked. Thus, each god falls into one of four categories: Holy/Righteous, Holy/Wicked, Infernal/Righteous, or Infernal/Wicked.
Holy
Holy deities embody one or more transcendent ideals for their worshippers to aspire to. The worshiper of a holy deity looks up to their god or goddess, seeking to embody their teachings with the understanding that the ultimate manifestation of the lessons cannot be obtained while within the physical realm. Godqueen Yara and the Eschen trinity are Holy gods.
Infernal
Infernal deities embody less lofty concepts and are more concerned with the material world, encouraging their followers to take advantage of the bounty life gives them. While the acolyte of a Holy god might spend their lives in preparation for the afterlife, the acolyte of an infernal god seeks fulfillment in the present moment. Sam'lia and Chalgoth are Infernal gods.
Righteous
Righteous deities are those who espouse action for the good of the whole. These gods teach that while the individual benefits from their society, that individual must also be prepared to sacrifice for their society's benefit. Whether that's a mogul giving away their wealth to the needy, a soldier dying to defend their nation, or a healer who declines payment to heal the sick, Righteous deities encourage collaboration and cooperation in search of the common good. Yara, the Eschen trinity, and Sam'lia are Righteous gods.
Wicked
Wicked deities encourage the opposite. They are concerned with the self, the pursuit of individual power, wealth, or excellence, even if that comes at the expense of others. A Wicked deity is not necessarily anathema to social good, however. As mentioned before, the individual benefits from their society. However, the Wicked will never sacrifice for the whole, and if it appears like they have, you can be confident that they're always getting more than they paid. Chalgoth is a Wicked deity. Most avatars are also Wicked by nature.
So, choose your alignment!
Holy/Righteous: The classic 'good guys'. You walk the true path and will gather everyone you can to walk it alongside you, whether they want to or not.
Holy/Wicked: You will faithfully serve your god and embody their ideals, no matter who you have to hurt to do it.
Infernal/Righteous: Who could be mad when their goddess encourages wine-fueled orgies, complete with catering? Just don't skimp out on the child support afterwards, or a paladin might come around to break your kneecaps.
Infernal/Wicked: The classic 'bad guys'. You know you walk the true path because you fucking paved it. You could care less if anyone else wants to walk it alongside you, but if they do they definitely gotta pay for the privilege.
