Now you must choose your attunement!

Last vote there was a landslide victory for... Luck.

I'm already intrigued.

The following are the proportional values of the top three choices distributed between 10 attribute points, which is the amount that is granted during Creation. These were Strength, Fortitude, and Luck. I rounded to a single decimal, leaving a 0.1 point rounding error.

STR + 1.7

FOR + 1.4

LCK + 6.8

0.1 rounding error

I'll be doing some good old fashioned basic-ass rounding to get the final figures, meaning our sacrificial lamb's stats are currently:

STR: 3
AGI: 1
SPD: 1
FOR: 2
INT: 1
WIS: 1
CHA: 1
LCK: 8

Health: 23
HP Regen: 2

Stamina: 20
SP Regen: 2

Mana: 10
MP regen: 1

Defenses:
Physical: 1
Spiritual: 1
Divine: 8
Mystical: 0
Dimensional: 2

Dodge: 2

Blessed capacity: 8

[Rerouting...]

You're squishy as shit with garbage resources. What could go wrong? At least your Divine defense is solid for Level 0. Too bad you're WAY more likely to run into something trying to bite you than a random Grade 0 who venerates a god of smiting.

Eh, we're sure you know what you're doing.

Up next, decide your attunement!

Physical

Physical skills deal with Kinetic attacks such as ordinary strikes and projectiles. Physical also modifies traditional Elemental attacks such as fire, cold, lightning, acid, and sonic. It's responsible for Toxicity and Bleed and serves as a core source for the debuffs Ignite, Slow, Immobilize, Shock, Paralyze, Corroded (which is rarely seen but grants Penetration), Deafen, and forced movement including knockdown.

While Physical is an extremely versatile school with the most damage-focused skills and a robust roster of debilitating effects, it is also typically the school easiest to build defenses against. Physical is excellent at obliterating crowds and soft targets, while struggling against tanks and other high-defense characters.

Spiritual

Spiritual skills deal with the mind and the soul. It can create psychic effects for robust communication or the delivery of crippling debuffs, summon and control the undead, and manipulate or attack the soul's connection to the body to deal Spectral damage, among other things.

Spiritual effects are harder to resist than Physical, albeit with less focus on straight damage. It is an excellent source of social attacks and mind-affecting abilities, imparting Paranoia, Paralyze, Stun, Dominate, Fear, Mesmerize, and other specialized charm and control effects. Mind and soul shenanigans abound.

Divine

Divine skills are effects whose power is at least partially based on a deity worshipped by the user. While Divine can invoke the widest array of powers, any given wielder may only use a narrow slice based on the concepts and domains their chosen deity represents. That being said, there are Divine effects that are common to many deities and are thus representative of the school as a whole.

Divine skills are the best source of healing and cleanse abilities, although they are not exclusive to Divine. This also typically comes with other beneficial effects such as stacks of Blessed, Celerity, or defensive buffs. Where Physical and Spiritual are the best for debuffs, Divine is generally the best for buffs.

Divine is one of the strongest choices for powerful, direct damage. This is typically without additional status effects, but Divine is generally a very low defense for most, giving it some of the most devastating single-target, high-damage attacks possible. This is especially true when wielding Righteous damage, which naturally deals double damage to entities profane to the wielder's god. If the worshipper's god is Wicked, such damage reduces maximum HP and prevents ordinary healing.

Divine additionally has potent perception and scrying powers.

Mystical

Mystical deals with the manipulation of magic itself and generally involves altering, negating, or seizing control of skills and other magical phenomenon. It is also the best overall source of Shielding, with powerful sources of limited-instance defensive and damage reflect skills.

Mystical is fond of duplicating things, including skill effects, and summoning static objects like walls or ammunition. Mystical can also have a major impact on the efficacy of mana shapes and generally governs how well an individual can sense mana of various types.

Mystical has the fewest direct damage skills, but it is also the only school that has no native attribute-based defense, meaning it is most often everyone's lowest.

Dimensional

Dimensional skills are divided into two primary types: spatial and planar. Spatial skills manipulate... space. This can shorten the distance between points, accelerate movement, alter gravity, and create shearing effects. This can also impact things such as light and sound, creating areas of darkness or warping light around objects to make them invisible. It can create vacuums where sound cannot travel, or simply alter space so that sound waves no longer propagate in predictable ways.

Planar skills invoke the relationships between disparate planes of reality. While spatial magicks can cause near-instant movement that mimics teleportation, Planar skills are best for true teleportation in all its forms. This not only includes instant travel, potentially interdimensional travel, but also banishment of substances to alternate planes, like your enemy's organs or those smelly running shoes stinking up your closet that you keep forgetting to throw away. You can wear something else to mow the lawn; your SO is starting to get annoyed.

The interplay between these two types--spatial and planar--make for one of the best suites of mobility and positioning skills available.

Did you read all that? Really eager for some lore and mechanics, eh? It's a good thing you're able to make an informed choice so that your pick is trampled over by a horde of people who ignored this entire post and insta-picked something juuust because they thought it'd be dumb.

Sure, there are some obvious synergies with LCK and a certain school full of stacking buffs and big attacks just begging for some crits... but all the schools can kind of work with LCK. Maybe.

Anyway, go. Shoo. Pick something.

Luck and mystical... what are you gonna do when the readers all fall in love with this character.

Imissed

I desperately want to see this character get Mystical, I feel its one of the cooler combinations here

Throh_goblin Lord

Attunement grants access to the two adjacent schools. Imagine the list as a wheel where Dimensional wraps back around to Physical. Mystical gives access to Dimensional and Divine, for example.
