Weekly Update! New commission progress! Some small stuff on the second commission and a model update for Jane!

Hey everyone! :D

So it's been a pretty busy week but a lot of it has been more technical stuff rather than big progress on all 3 projects.

So the first thing is updating my Blender from 3.6 to 4.3 which has been a long time coming but from updating Blender I've been checking what I've already done on the Jane X Springtrap project to see if there are any issues and for the most part it's all good but the lighting and rendering settings have changed a little from what I'm used to and I had to fix several things in those areas to get it looking how I originally had it.

Major progress has been made on the first commission project which is Dwight x Ripley! I built a custom room from re-purposing the assets from the Nostromo map and edited some furniture to fit with the style of the map.

This is only a short animation at just over 30 seconds, what you see above is the main position but there is a tiny little intro to this as well as ending with a climax and a small ending scene. There is going to be a small section where Dwight unzips Ripley's jacket and there are some little easter egg bits on the shelves as the person who commissioned me for this has commissioned me on two projects before with plans for a future one ^_^

Big thank you to Licht as well as they were very kind to make this Ripley model for me :D they also gave me some tips on how to improve my custom models as I've mentioned before they can be quite bad xD

The pose has been fully signed off now so I will be working on making the hands and feet look like they are resting and making the bed squeeze down to show some weight from both characters and actually make the bed look soft.

The second commission project was mainly getting the assets I needed for it as it's not a DBD animation it's a Marvel Rivals one instead with Magik and Psylock.




I've downloaded Marvel Rivals on my PC as I needed to get the assets from the game and for the location this will take place in but everything is split into smaller models so I will be working out how to piece it all together :) It took a bit of time to find where the models are and the exact map models I needed as the names for some of the map buildings are confusing. This is also a short animation being 20 seconds long :)

The final thing I did was improve the Jane model that I'll be using in the Springtrap animation, I wasn't going to at first as I've already been animating the intro but beyond the point I have animated I will just switch over to this new model! This one has a lot more facial expressions for me to go nuts with similar to the ones I used on Susie in the recent animation.


Here is the new model with the old one, the face matches Jane's a lot more now but I get a bit of a weird illusion where her new head looks a lot smaller than her old one but when I put them within each other it's only a tiny bit smaller, it just has sharper facial features matching her in-game face more.

That's all from me for now though :) I wanted to get a lot more progress done on the second commission and the Springtrap animation but the technical side of things took longer than I anticipated D:

I’m honestly shocked on the pick on Ripley considering how everyone that I have talk to about the fan of the character absolutely hates how she looks and sounds in dbd 😭
