Community Update - Alpha, Beta, Unlimited... Revised!

Greetings everyone, let's talk about some changes and updates!

Semi-Regular Community Posts

What better use of the first "official" community post than to talk about community posts! What tends to happen is that I'll end up wrapping community related news and announcements into development updates, and end up with either bloated posts or multiple posts in a day. Instead, I'm going to start consolidating any and all community news and updates in a regular post, every Tuesday. Well, there may not be one every Tuesday, but if there's anything to talk about that isn't directly related to development you can expect it to drop on a Tuesday, and I would count on at least one community post a month... at least. Part of the reason I'm scheduling these out is because...

Development Blogs Moved to Thursdays

Due to logistical changes in my personal life, it's becoming difficult to get weekly development blog posts ready in time for Wednesday. To alleviate that stress on myself, and ensure I get all the information out that I'm aiming for, I've decided to move the still-weekly development posts to Thursdays, starting this week. Not a major change, but worth giving a head's up over. I'm still really looking forward to the artwork preview this week!

Nomenclature Updates

Like the post title? I used to play at the Regionals level during Extended's heyday, then spent years writing for MTG editorial sites. I don't live near a LGS anymore, but still sleeve up any change I get!

As far as how that title is relevant to today's post, though, I wanted to inform everyone that I'm officially going to be ditching the Alpha and Beta identifiers with all releases moving forward. The game is functional, it's just not feature or content complete, and I think it's time to represent it properly. Instead, you can expect to see the following:

• Dev Build - Development build for those in the $10+ tier
• Backer Build - Game build released to Patreon backers in the $5+ tier
• Public Build - Game build released to the public

Version numbers won't be changing. As much as I'd like to go that far, I think it would just cause too much confusion.

About That Feedback Survey

It's coming! It should still be out this week, I've just been a little busier than anticipated. It's definitely on my priority list and want to get that into the wild sooner rather than later.

Front Page Content

The Patreon front page will be getting an update soon with links to communities, a new development roadmap, and progress updates on current builds. I'm hoping to have the latter two previewed this Thursday with the actual update occurring later this week or early next week.
