6.0 - Back on Track

I'm happy (read: severely depressed) to report that I've returned from my trip to Japan and I'm excited (read: actually excited) to get back to work on The Company!
It was a glorious two weeks of amazing food, public baths, shopping, city exploration, crippling humidity and more walking than I ever care to repeat in that kind of time span again! Seriously, I lost 15 pounds!
I also managed to get through the whole vacation with only four near-death encounters!
- Almost got my backpack caught in the ceiling while riding an escalator
- Almost got eaten alive by packs of deer in Nara
- Got closed in the doors while getting off a subway and had to pry myself off as it started taking off
- Survived a sexy romp with Nina Lawless
All in all, amazing trip. 10/10, will repeat.
Getting Back to Work
Okay, okay. So now that I'm back it's time to pick up right where I left off! You all got a taste of what's to come in the two devblogs I left and not much has changed in that regard. As I recover from jet lag, I'm taking this time to go through the bug reports submitted in September and working to fix what I can, with the brunt of the writing starting again on Monday.
On that note, I'm seeing three major themes in September's bug reports that I want to touch on:
1. For some reason, Chrome seems to be deleting save files. While I haven't experienced this myself, I'm not discounting the issue. That said, it's almost certainly browser based as nothing in the game's code or Twine's code has changed in terms of how saves are handled. If anyone wants to chime in with insight or a fix please feel free, however this isn't something I can presently offer a solution for.
2. A lot of people are reporting missing images, specifically the new images added in 5.4. I can confirm that these images are working in the online version of the game, and they were included in the newest image packs. This leads me to believe that people who have downloaded 5.4 to play locally, have not downloaded the new image pack or image pack update. If you're having this issue, please confirm your image pack is up to date! That said, there's a few specific reports I'm looking into along these lines, so don't think I'm ignoring any legitimate missing image issues.
3. Finally, I'm seeing a huge influx of people spamming the report issue feature. Basically just filling the form with nonsense. I get notified every time a report is issued and I have to go through the reports regularly to comb out the garbage from the actual issues. I understand it was a slow month, but, come on... be cool.
That's it regarding reported issues. I don't intend to release a bug fix update prior to 6.0, but all fixes from the report will be included during the pre-alpha phase. Speaking of pre-alpha, my intention is to get those rolling out by next Friday, so be on the lookout!
That's pretty much it for this post. You can also consider this to be next week's update as well since I'm still catching up. I expect we'll be back to our regular schedule on the second week of October.

Westane has stated in the past the the amount of code that would be required in allowing the player to use the strange strapon on themselves would be immense. Currently he is checking whether or not the player has a penis and then assumes they have a vagina if not. He would need to go through every facet of his code and change it to check if penis, vagina, or both and then have a unique outcome for each. I think he said it may be possible within the game's lifetime, but certainly not anytime in the foreseeable future.

As in, once you do it, you can't change gender, and the player can not only get pregnant, but also impregnate others, as long as the player isn't on the contraception? You already have other gender fluid options, and I think this could add a new dimension of possibilities in the game. you already have the option to refuse transformation, so it isn't a far-fetched idea. Also, what about the possibility to date the different shop clerks, possibly being able to dose them? That would open up a lot more possibilities. Same with Julia and John/Chanel, when they are busy at points during the day? I honestly think there is so many things you can add to create new dynamics and game play options, further making the game even more exciting and excellent to play. Feel free to use any of my ideas I have provided, as I want to see this game succeed, and don't mind in the least bit if you use them.

2018-10-01 16:39:08 +0000 UTCi think chrome delete the save file when you use the slot but you dont have pb if you save it on a fils on your desk. §In fact, its an option in chrome to delete the "cache" files when you close chrome. It's a known pb. So always save you game on your desk⦠(in a known directory :) )

2018-09-30 17:27:31 +0000 UTCI play with the online version and I have also noted an image issue. But they're not missing they just take a REALLY long time to load. As in I have to wait more than a minute at times before the image loads. Not all images, just some of the new ones.

2018-09-29 17:59:26 +0000 UTCWhen it comes to Chrome, I have a feeling it has something to do with the huge update. It's pretty likely that the way chrome caches data changed structurally, so the saves are still there, they're just with your old cache files.
