5.4 - Improving RNG

5.4.0 Update Status

As far as content goes, we're nearing a complete state, which is great! Still, there's some under-the-hood changes coming in 5.4 that are definitely worth talking about.
Fewer Random Events, More Event Variation
One of the underlying adjustments I'm working on in 5.4 is the rate of randomized content. One way I'm going to try to improve that is by introducing fewer random events moving forward, but adding more variations to those event. For example, one of Sophie's new random events can play out five different ways depending on how you've been dosing her, which is much better than having five different random events that may or may not ever trigger.
However, the biggest change coming in 5.4 is the introduction of internal cooldowns for random events. Once a random event triggers, that same event cannot trigger again for at least 4 days in game. To get technical, once an event occurs, it's completely removed from the random event pool. After its timer has completed, it's added back into the event pool. The actual rate is still being tweaked, but this should make many events much more visible in the long run.
Conversation Enhancements
So, when I added the random conversation system I didn't really build it in a "complete" or "elegant" way. The result was more of a "sequential" system rather than a truly random one. This meant conversations were triggering in a predictable pattern, and any adjustments to the rates would have unexpected or unhelpful results.
Well, I scrapped that system and started over, and the result is a much more function conversation system that actually triggers randomly and actually adheres to a set occurrence rate! In 5.4, you'll get bombarded with far fewer random conversations and when you do see them they'll actually occur randomly.
Finally, I'll be applying the same internal cooldowns I added to random events to the random conversations.
Dynamic Positions Preview - Clothing
A couple weeks ago I previewed the new dynamic sex scenes. The public got to see some adorable censor kittens, while patrons got to see Sophie in all her glory. Today, I wanted to show off the new clothing layer for the system.



Different levels of undress open up even more customization levels to each scene, and all characters will be benefiting from it.
