2025-03-05 14:38:55 +0000 UTCJoining the chorus of those urging you to watch season 2, it truly is as good as everyone says! Not quite as dark/sad. Plus, Andrew Scott! Although, if you want sad Andrew Scott, have you seen All of Us Strangers? It's excellent. Oh and Rizzo, Olivia Coleman did once play a naturist in a film (a wedding-based comedy called Confetti), but apparently hated it and was misinformed about the extent of the nudity, so I probably shouldn't recommend it (I also don't remember it being particularly brilliant, but it's been a while!). Last bit of trivia - I think I read somewhere that 'Fleabag' is Phoebe W-B's own family nickname.

Like we don’t get to know what set off this war between them, but they’re both playing by rules they know and are good at. They’re both dealing with being more sexual than society is comfortable with, stepmom really never seems disingenuous about that. The thing that makes them unable to stand each other is that Fleabag’s method of cope is being ostentatiously unpretentious while also worrying about getting old and unsexy, and stepmom’s is being pretentiously sincere and elegant as she ages, worrying about being perceived as crass. They’re similar in the exact wrong ways to ever get along.

2025-02-28 13:56:47 +0000 UTCYes, I would very much suggest doing the second series of fleabag and your excitement for the second series is very understandable on YouTube as soon as the post drops that you’re reaction to 02x01 is good to go God I’m gonna be so on it. There’s one thing that I think we can take away from this show is that Phoebe Waller Bridge is incredibly clever.

I love the culmination of everything in this season where Fleabag is backing away, staring at her sister, staring at the camera and having nowhere to hide or escape to anymore because Fleabag has very explicitly not shared the details of what she did to Boo with us, the audience until that last episode when it all comes out

Fleabag is such an interesting show that really explores what it is to be human, which makes it really relatable even if you haven't experienced half the things going on in the show. Really hope you're gonna watch season 2 in not too long!
