2025-09-03 09:10:32 +0000 UTC9 months late but after 95 years works of literary art created before 1978 (70 years if created after) enter the public domain so there aren't any copyright issues for Wizard of Oz, the final book of the original series entered the public domain 2015, but the original characters already did around 2000.

2024-12-05 21:38:31 +0000 UTCAs someone who watched Wandavision after having seen Agatha, you can watch it as a free standing show and appreciate it. I did get to watching Wandavision afterwards, which gave me the not needed excuse to enjoy this series again. This first episode reminds me of the Wandavision pacing, which bothered me at first. But the story weaving, actresses & main actor really made this an entertaining watch; which I waited for once a week every week when it was live. Good choice for your final show of the year

I know when the Wicked musical first came out on Broadway they couldn’t get the rights to a lot of the Wizard of Oz lore things (that’s why you don’t see Dorthy in the stage show, the slippers are silver, and why Galinda’s bubble dress is blue and not pink) but for the movie, MGM gave them the rights to a lot of things so they were able to add those elements in. I’m not sure about anything else but that’s what I know particularly in the Wicked universe of things.

The book starts with a similar quote about single men in good fortune being in want of a wife.

I loved how it started with the fake out of cop procedural. I just enjoyed the whole rest of the vibe. Perfect for Halloween season. Witchy, and dark, but fun. Same fun level for me as movies like the craft or the witches. 🧙
