Capt Pawstrong's Victory (Сommission)
Added 2023-04-06 02:09:46 +0000 UTCCommission for my friend Nintendoloz who gave me a very nice task which fits my recent big interest in old computers pretty much. The idea was to draw Captain Rover Pawstrong from an old game Star Paws which was originally made for ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64 computers. ZX Spectrum aesthetic is surely too caveman to work with but Commodore one felt pretty inspiring.
Idea of the game is simple, Capt Pawstrong is fighting against a colony of bird aliens and one of the game's sections allows you to shoot them from a canon which became an actual art idea with Pawstrong posing victorious sitting on the top of his heavy artillery. Original art was supposed to be sfw and include only Pawstrong to be a classic pure fanart but of course there's also another version with Nintendoloz's OC Merco I was drawing many times before, much spicier and showing him caught by horny Pawstrong along with other aliens, just in case, you know, haha.
I was playing a lot with vintage aesthetics again and I think I improved pretty much. Even though I already liked cleaner versions with them looking sharper and not losing small details I still wanted to do ones with more noise and more vintage feel. The last ones in blue frames are special versions turned into indexed images with Commodore 64 palette profile applied to them. They can seem more colorful than they are but in fact they use just 16 colors of original C64, it just looks different with super high resolution, I posted a close up fragment to show how it works but you can also see it by uploading originals from attachments.
