UGHHHH Rizzo, you didn't suffer in vain, I managed to hang on for the entire WAY TOO LONG runtime. Booooo Oliver!!!! A 7-year age difference when one is in their formative years is a HUGE gap in life experience, expectations, and even identity. It's Oliver's job to not let that happen. The year is also a big factor, if only they'd had internet, Elio would have so many boyfriends, or at least maybe not felt like here's his ONLY chance at a connection. Also the dad is cool but it's so disrespectful to his marriage to say their connection was better than sum total any relationship he's had. It was a passionate summer fling- fun but also short and logistically easy. The 2 of them didn't even have to help share household chores bc there's a maid! They haven't had to help each other through the storm of making a whole-ass life together. Passion is the easiest thing in the world when you're in that initial glow, and it had a built-in end date. Plus the mom was gorgeous sooo wtf professor

I cannot tell if the creepy age gap in CMBYN is supposed to make the movie itself creepy, or what. I only have seen snippets from this reaction video. I did also like I am Love, but had some criticisms of it. I am also dying to see Suspiria.
