Oikawa deserves more screen time, such a good character.

Something interesting I noticed when rewatching this episode and also season 1 episode 7 is that last hit wasn’t just a parallel to the last hit of Karasuno vs. Aoba Johsai but the last hit of their very first match as well. Back then the freak quick was so surprising and so fast Oikawa wasn’t even able to react to it (it flew right past him), but now even though the freak quick is even better with Hinata able to aim his shot Oikawa was still able to react to it and even know where it was going. It shows just how far Hinata, Kageyama, and Oikawa have come as players. The only reason Oikawa wasn’t able to dig it up was because of the change of trajectory off the block.

Honestly, when I first watched Haikyuu I watched up through season 2 in the dub (season 3 was not dubbed yet) so I could not wait so I watched in sub. When the dub finally came out I was disappointed in how some of the lines were translated/changed. FYI, if you plan to watch season 4 there i NO dub out so you'll have to switch to the subs. Just something to think about as you go forward.

this is definitely my favorite episode of season 2! ps there’s also a seijoh special scene you can watch after ep 25 (it’s on youtube and was part of the movie version of the match)

I was so hyped when I watched that last rally in this ep before Karasuno scored the final point. Oikawa had some amazing moments like you said with the long distance set and loved hearing him want Kageyama to go at him with his best weapon in Hinata. The ending to this ep so good one of my favorites of the series
