yeah the western modern day "equivalent" would be if they served alcohol with oysters, figs, dark chocolate etc, as opposed to the steamed buns in season one which would have been more like sneaking Viagra into the food (viagra isn't actually classed as an aphrodisiac but close enough for the comparison)

The first is the baby swap baby, the last was Lihua's son, but there was AT LEAST one more, maybe even two. And as Maomao pointed out, Lihua's might not have been as "accidental" as everyone thought. So the other child might also have been targeted. Also, a thought I just had, it seems like the attempts on Jinshi are a recent development. It might have been leaked that he's really the son and thus even if Loulan has a son, it won't matter so long as he lives.

When Jinshi asked MaoMao if she was sure he could eat this, he was fishing whether MaoMao knew he was a eunuch or not. When MaoMao kept on insisting he could eat it (itβs not poison) he knew she was oblivious because a eunuch would not feel the effects of the food/drink and would not (or could not haha) jump her.
