“Goody, time for a trip out”, squealed Monica clapping her hands.
“What? out”? No way, I can’t go out, I have no male clothes”. Tommy replied fearfully.
“That’s not a problem, you can borrow some stuff from us”, Sarah chimed in.
“But why do we have to go out”? Tommy moaned.
“Earth to Tommy, do I look like I know how to do a spray tan or dye hair? Well I don’t and neither does Monica, we’ll need to visit the salon, but first you need to make a choice”, Monica said looking like she was enjoying herself.
Two days later Tommy, stood outside the apartment having just got back from the salon as Sarah insisted on taking some photos of his new hairdo before letting him inside.
He shivered as another picture was taken, wrapping Monica’s coat tightly around himself to try and stay warm. It helped a little but didn’t do anything to for his exposed legs, that felt as cold as ice with only a thin layer white nylon to protect them from the bitterly cold artic wind.
He felt emasculated and ridiculous posing outside as his newly dyed platinum curls gently blowing in the wind danced around his cheeks. Thinking he would look more like Kurt Cobain than Barbie, he had chosen the hair over the tan as he remembered his mother’s spray tans in the past, and the orange stains all over the bathroom and towels, that was something he hadn’t wanted to experience.
He was still in a state of shock from the experience at the salon, not expecting such a drastic transformation as the hair stylist seemed to revel in the fact he was a boy in cut off shorts and a cute white top getting his hair bleached, he hadn’t asked for the haircut and styling but the hairdresser had ignored his requests and just did her thing.
The thing he couldn’t get his head around was nobody had noticed he was a boy out in public wearing girls’ clothes, or if they did notice, no one seemed to care. Perhaps it was the Sarah’s large sunglasses, that covered most of his face, or more worrying, perhaps he was starting to actually look like a girl.
At the end of the week Sarah and Monica announced now that the hat was getting low on options, they would each be adding 10 more each.
As Tommy watched their sinister smiles, as they wrote them at the table, showing each other and giggling, Tommy knew they were now going to be to his liking as he told himself he needed to find a job in the coming week no matter what.
He didn’t have to wait long to be proven right as Sarah and Monica tossed their newly written forfeits into the hat and tommy picked out the weeks options.
1) Start wearing shoes with a heel
2) Every outfit must have at least one pink item of clothing.
