Inking drapery
Added 2020-11-08 12:08:57 +0000 UTCA shirt study done from reference, trying to create visual flow with hatching. When shading with line, all the same principles of drapery drawing apply, but on top of that your lines create not only shadow and form, but also visual flow with their direction.
I added two Frank Godwin drawings as examples of masterfully executed lines that create visual flow. Keep in mind that visual flow can mean both flowing, fast, graceful lines, but also short and juxtaposed lines that make the movement through the drawing slow and jagged.
