Sun Chariot under drawing

Earlier this year I posted a couple of sketches for a piece with Celestia sitting on a radial engine chopper. Well today I sat down and worked out the the under drawing that I will transfer to the final working surface.

The biggest challenge I had with this piece was keeping the spirit of the sketches with the hard realities of how various components of a motorcycle interact with each other. Fortunately I found chopper that had this engine arrangement and was able to study its frame and exhaust system to get a handle where things went. Although I increased the rake and stretched the forks on my bike.

Petina passes you a box of Kleenex. "That's why she did it."

Oh I don't know, So she doesn't burn her leg. all those pipes and they end right where her legs are. Wonder what her tee shirt says? "GUARDS Have more uses than you think"

RECoyote

I don't know, this one looks cleaner, but not a detailed.

It is nice but I like to ride. I think she does too!

Vet

Thanks. This one was a challenge.

Yeah the rake on those forks is pretty extreme, I was imagining this bike in reality being more of a show bike. One of those Arlen Ness dream machines that can be ridden but only on smooth pavement under optimal conditions. Of course Celestia could've decided to embarked upon a serious road improvement program for Equestria!

Chaps -- why did she have to put on chaps? *nosebleed*

It's really nice but I see an issue with that much rake. Any bump taken at the front wheel will flex the forks putting a lot of strain on the front frame where the forks connect. I have seen a big Harley one time bend the forks snapping them off at the yoke area. Putting the front of the engine on the ground. A pivot front axle using that old fork spring system might help. Now with magic her road and ride would be smooth but what fun is that?

Vet

Always impressed with the research and effort you put into your artwork.
