Phillipe has really done a diligent job of answering your translation questions! It's very true that you get various different translations of some Thai words and expressions because #1 you just have different people with different approaches doing the translations and #2 some of the words don't exist in Thai which makes it a little tricky for translation in subtitles. I do grimace when I see translations that change the meaning or flavor.

In this case, it’s not borrowed from English (like Barcode… sorry, poor boy, his ears must be burning already XD). It’s the romanization of a Thai word used as a name... I don’t know what it means, but it’s probably something random like tree or banana.
