Status Update (Chapter 126)

Traditionally Teff posts chapters at around midnight BST. However, of late he seems to have adopted "Valve time" on the plus side, the school holidays are over, so mini-teff requires less taking care of, but on the down side, micro-teff is due any time now, so we should emphasize the E in ETA.

It is actually fairly common for the first child to come a little early. The following children are usually born right on time unless there is an unusual amount of stress and anxiety in the expecting mom.

Thanks for your kind words everybody! Tef junior was two weeks early, so the wife is convinced the next one will follow suit. I've been telling her he's taking it easy and will turn up on the due date... I guess we'll see who's right pretty soon! I've written 25.5k so far, so I'm nearly done. I might make this into a 2-parter, because there's a sequence of scenes I wanted to have in the same chapter. I'll see where I'm up to when I hit the 30k mark. Either way, it won't make any difference to you guys or the release schedule.

Congrats Tefler. A former client of mine broke it down for me with a sports metaphor when I was expecting our third... when you have your first it’s two on one and it is easy. With two children you shift to man-to-man coverage and you are still OK. But when you have three or more, you are forced to drop into zone coverage and there is always at least one ‘open’ to get into trouble.

Tefler writing in desperation how Faye (instantly restored to fully functionality) has a new mode: "Nanny Faye is now active." The crying from myriad babies that was starting to cascade across the Great Nursery instantly begins to diminish as rainbow shards of light and soothing hums fill the air as psionic emitters surround each infant with feelings of love and the Great Nursery itself begins to gently rock from side to side... Gentle smiles line the faces of the diaper-bots as they begin their work while holographic images of John and the girls appear above the restless little ones while Faye's brilliant eyes beam with love at the girls and John as she snuggles her primary body in a bit closer within the group as they peacefully sleep through a full four hour period before it's time for the next shift for feeding.
