Status Update

I've finished my first pass of eBook 4 and have started working through the edits from my editors. After I've gone through those, I'll email a copy of the text to the patrons who've been my biggest supporters, as I did for the previous eBooks (anyone contributing over $150). With a final pass for edits, I'm hoping to have the eBooks ready for publication in around a week or so.
I'm making inroads into chapter 116 and have written 7k so far. My current plan is to get two chapters out by the end of the month, which means finishing this chapter by about the 22nd.
Finally, I bought a mic today and briefly logged onto the discord server this afternoon to test it and say hello to everyone. I'll go online again at 11pm GMT tonight, so if you have anything you'd like to ask, I'll do my best to answer any questions. No spoilers though! :-)

Man, this story is long! Spent like, two months worth of free time the first time around, and then another to catch up to all the other stories I stopped reading in the meantime.

2019-01-30 13:37:39 +0000 UTCAt six and a half weeks, this TSM shutdown is longer than the Trump shutdown. People aren't going hungry in this shutdown, except for being hungry for more story. That said, I would rather wait for the story to be done right, not rushed for some artificial deadline. As the short order cook said to the guy complaining about having to wait for his eggs, "would you rather wait for your eggs or have your eggs waiting for you." Quality matters! Hope you are feeling better soon.

But the NHS does as well, though they're different issues, I suppose. As to dental work being expensive, that's true the world over, to varying degrees.

Long story short, my teeth cost me about $20,000 (enough to buy a new car), and about half of that was deeply discounted at the local School of Dentistry. Dental insurance is a joke here - you pay $600 to $800 a year for a 30-50% copay and a $1000 coverage limit (unless you are on some sort of government subsidized or massive group plan).
