I wonder if the heart crystal has a type of energy signature that Dana could add to the scanners so they could track them down easier we know they have some psychic energy to them and they do have that device that can track it to a degree merge it the Invictus Sensor array. Even if its just the crystal itself in a museum as a rare crystal of unkown origin.

Is that what you think the premise of the story is? Interesting. I would say that John is following the standard Progenitor model of having Matriarchs funnel and direct energy towards their Progenitor, even if he has supposedly made one of his Matriarchs a Progenitor in her own right. The telepathy that the Matriarchs possess is apparently vastly greater than that of other, non-Progenitor races, even the Ashanath, given their ability to communicate without aid across such vast distances with such ease. I suspect that they use some of the energy that they are channeling to their Progenitor to aid in this regard. For that reason, it would be less than trivial to have every one of John’s women be given this ability. At least, that’s my thought on the matter.

That needs more thought. While wrapping the heart crystal in a protective casing it could at the very same time, cut it off from the body. Sure their hearts would be safe but the body would suffer for it or worse it could kill them. Perhaps training to move the heart crystal in their bodies to another spot that would not likely be a target.

JFL, on the topic of psychic communication. I have been wondering for awhile now. Why doesn’t John just give the ability to all the girls. They all have psychic powers already, it would be a very short logical step for the girls to be able to communicate directly with each other as well as other psychic species. Now before anyone goes and says that is not how proginators operate. Since when has John done anything according to the standard proginator model. The entire premise of this story is John breaking the mold and doing thing differently. Just pump in other another bully full and flip the right switch. Presto, telepathy for everyone.

Has Rachael compared the crystal heart of Jade to those of her sisters? Also, it might be useful to put some protective covering on their hearts like the did with Jade. This is a known progenitor design flaw.

Not to sure about John bring a test or research subject. I have no doubt that TF would live the opportunity, but they know they would never have the support of the soldiers or terran people to even attempt it, unless it was willing, which we know he isnt. On top of that, between his own abilities to protect himself, the Lionesses protection, TF would face the wrath of Edraele and the ENTIRE Malari force. John is untouchable, even more so now with his "friends" in the admiralty.

Maybe Jehanna's interviews will provide a back-drop for an unfolding montage of stories and catch-ups.

Yeah, I've taken up writing a bit (Tefler makes it look ridiculously easy) and my Mom told me "if this turns erotic I'm not reading another page!" I imagine the average family would be similar. It's kinda sad how closed minded we are as a society.

List of people to choose from is huge from the 1st chapter we have the old chap who directed John to mines.Then on for couple of chapters we have people saved mostly from Pirates and Drakkar. Then you have rich and powerful kidnap victims of Armed Cobra's. Later chapters it's planet full of people.In today's age and time John and crew would have made it to web series,movies,cartoons and school lessons for sure. John would have been a research subject ..so Tefler has a lot to play with...

Be interested in the device used to get from Olympus to the outer rim allowing us to see the goings on in the Invictus at the same time as giving us cameo appearances by a raft of 'bit characters' that have graced our pages on the way. Or will it be the other way around with the other stories somehow linking the bits and pieces of real time Invictus. Like you DD interested not only in what's behind the curtain but also the texture and colour of the curtain itself...

Yes, TF -- they are bound for the outer rim. Not much time for plot development, but plenty of time for character side glances, cameos and vignettes. A lot can happen on the Invictus and elsewhere in two or three days. Many loose ends can quickly be tied up. Tefler's narrative style is not only evocative and compelling but it is dense and full of essential detail. The Creator has his own design. I am just anxious to peek behind the curtain.

potentially 107 won't be about any of the Lionesses so any stories about Helene's family, Jehanna's family or even Niskera's friends probably won't appear unless it is a set up for later connections. As much as many of us want to see Jade's sisters and Helene develop I suspect these will play a minor part to Tefler tying up loose ends or establishing a thread for later on. Of course I might be wrong...Here's hoping....
