Well you're right about the time discrepancy, but wrong about the colour. Teal is a blue-green than ranges from what appears to be a very light green to a much darker hue. Ailantha does not appear to be a nymph, so unless she is a species not mentioned at all so far .... and I've never known Tefler to use 'deus ex machina' moments, then she's going to be a terran/brimorian cross. Perhaps BSP had previously crossed the species, and then used the Kintark/Brimorian relationship to build his legions.

That doesn't gel with the fact that 1, the abandoned as a species are no older than 200 years, being a cross between Brimorians and Terans and 2, Ailanthia has been BSPs Matriarch for several millenia. Aside from the fact that Helene is described as teal if i remember correctly, while Ailanthia is light green.

OK, so here's a poser for you. I'm assuming that Ailantha and all of BSPs thralls are of the Abandoned, just from the descriptions given in the text so far. Ailantha as BSPs matriarch is presumably the 'strongest' of them all psychically, in that she maintains the psychic power network. But what happens if another Abandoned comes along who is even stronger than Ailantha psychically ..... does the power network shift allegiances so to speak?

I hate to say it but I think Jehanna isn't going to make it. She hasn't joined the crew so it not like she is a major character and for a lack of a better word is expendable (sorry for sounding cold on that one). Rachael will try and save her but will be wiped out from after battle healing. I can see the crew being in rough shape after the battle.

OK, How injured will Jehanna be, will she be in critical condition due to the interrogations, would they try to give her some slow working poison so she suffers as they abandon the base when they see John and crew on the way? will it be to much for Rachael to heal on her own, Will Rachael have any energy left to Heal because some of the Lionesses or John were Injured in the Battle?

Can you imagine MK II Crystal Alyssium that is deca shaped and 50% stronger than the original CA? 12 inches of that stuff would laugh at Singularity Drivers! Just 2 inches of Maliri Crystal is as strong as a foot of titanium panels. Each shaping adds another 5%. So a deca shaped 2 inch panel would be 12*1.2*1.2*1.2*1.2*1.2*1.2*1.2*1.2*1.2*1.2*1.5 =111 inches or almost 12 feet of titanium....and the Invictus panels are 2 feet thick...so equivalent to 1,332 feet of titanium!!!!!!

Dawg, capturing a Hive Lord alive would be difficult but not impossible. We know some class of Kirrix are on Tartarus, but we do not know what types or how many of them there are. That remains unclear. I doubt more than a handful of them are available. I can imagine scenarios where they can escape or be released to fight with John and the Girls, but unarmored and weapon-less Kirrix prisoners do not stand a chance against them in full battle mode. If Buckingham did go to Tartarus to use Jehanna and the Lenarran hostages as leverage, or to protect/destroy evidence of his dark secrets, he might find himself in the grasp of escaped Kirrix prisoners. In that case, his fate would be out of John's hands. If a Hive Lord is on base and did infest Buckinham with Kirrix eggs, I image John asking Rachel to heal him of that infestation so that he can be brought to justice before the Admiralty.

I remember a reason for no more that 3 Power Cores Per ship, something about resonance, can someone please find this or Tefler please clarify. 2. 8 Tactical Officers, WOW, that is a great deal, I can see two with computer controlled targeting - kind of set and forget for a region then becoming opportunistic if grid is clear. 3. I can really see the use for the Quantum Gatling Guns with Valkyrie Caliber rounds for the smaller well shielded ships. (Valkyrie Caliber = the larger version of the Gatling Gun that the Valkyrie utilized)

Okay, Tefler has said the next ship in John's fleet is going to be a 200 meter 'fighter' (Cruiser with badd ass mobility) In the story John has told Dana he wants a kitchen, a bedroom large enough for all of them, and some storage space. So here is what I am thinking: Destroyer Class 200 meters (because Tefler said so). All the crew spaces are on one deck. The command Bridge is centrally located and accessable only through a fast gravity chute that pops down beneath the ship for access when at rest. The kitchen/dining area is immediately behind CIC and the bedroom is at the rear of the kitchen. Storage is immediately in front of CIC. All internal compartments are 12 shaped Mk II Crystal Alyssium (using Vulkat Crystal tech) which is 50% more resilient than current CA. The storage room has its own anti-grav tube for loading and double reinforced anti-grav auto-loaders to all the mass ordinance and the room and auto-loaders all have a second skin of 12 shaped Mk II Crystal Alyssium for safety with the anti-grav auto-loaders acting as energy vents in case of a catastrophic explosion. Two Progen Servers, one to house avionics and fire control and the second as a backup plus Faye VI.). Omni angle thrusters along 6 longitudinal lines giving the 'fighter' unparalleled agility and near instant 'zero turn', 'zero pitch', 'zero roll' and 'zero yaw' capability. 6 Trankaran engines sized to fit at the apexes of a hexagon with a combined thrust equal to 75% of the Invictus (the 2 Nova Lances mentioned below in the center) giving the 'fighter' 2.25 times the speed of the Invictus due to mass differentials. 6 Progen Power Cores. 2 dedicated to Nova Lances, 2 dedicated to other weapons. 1 set as life support, ship's power and shields, 1 dedicated to Quantum Star Drive. Armament: 6 Nova Lances 4 exiting the fore and 2 aft (aft 2 are nestled between the engines as mentioned above). This would give the new ship 15 second fire rates (alternating fire) between the two sets fore and a 30 second fire rate and nasty surprise aft. Alternatively, both sets of fore Nova Lances can fire simultaneously, doubling the energy output on target. Nova Lances come equipped with a 5 meter extension super anti-grav tube that reduces the cross section of the Nova Lance from 100 meters to 10 meters, making each set 100 times more powerful at impacted cross section and making them a more surgical strike weapon. 6 lines of guns at 60 degree offsets down the longitudinal axis with each set 25 meters apart. Lines alternate between MK III Photon Lasers and Quantum Gauss cannons (all on relatively tall (2 meter high gimbal mounts) giving 7 guns in each row and 14 on intercepting arcs of each type at any angle. The Quantum Gauss Cannons alternate penetrator rounds with high explosive rounds for max effect. 6 lines of 15 continuous fire MK III pulse cannons, set 12 meters apart, lined between the alternating Photon and Quantum Gauss cannons on low gimbal mounts (1 meter to avoid interference with the larger guns)....30 available at any angle. 36 recessed Pods containing 12 launch tubes each of Vulkat mini missiles set equally distant from the pulse cannons and Photon Lasers that are auto reloading. The Photon Lasers are each at least more powerful than 15 Terran Standard. So each Photon Laser is equivalent to 3 standard Terran Assault Cruisers. This gives the 'fighter' the equivalent of 21 * 3 or 63 original Invictus Beam Laser batteries. Plus they are on fast tracking gimbal mounts. The pulse cannons (with 3 meter barrels) are already full on fire capable so the energy level they put out can be raised to 1.8 times the current level which makes them effective beyond mid-range...even with the same focal point as before. With the Vulkat tech, each pulse cannon mount is now relatively as powerful as one Terran Standard Beam Laser. With 90 (6 rows of 15 each) you now have a point defense AND effective Cruiser killing battery in one platform. Each Gauss cannon fires 5 times faster with twice the impact than Terran Standard. If Terran Standard is a very slow 1 round per 3 seconds that means these can fire 5 rounds each in 3 seconds or 100 rounds a minute. Each round, with the Quantum blanketed rounds, is roughly equivalent to the original Invictus mass driver round. With 42 emplacements you have the equivalent of 52 original Cruiser class vessels. With the Nova Lances being able to fire once every 30 seconds, with 2 sets fore and one set aft, you would have the equivalent firepower (just figuring Nova Lances) of 9 Maliri Shandrass Class Battleships. Crew of 1 Jade capable Pilot, 8 Calara capable (never miss) gunners, 1 commander/tactical officer/psychic communications officer.

My thoughts too... though we don't know if Jade is limited to female forms, so I'd expect Weber or Bucky to be 'cloned' - maybe taking a 'captured' John past all that security in order to ensure Jehanna &amp; co aren't hurt. However the team aren't known for subtlety so a full-on hack &amp; attack is an equally possible scenario... time will tell :)

DD...you asked about my comments about Buckingham at Tartarus . I thought that John would take him prisoner &amp; have Alyssa pick his brain to get Jehanna's location , or follow him . I admit my idea about his punishment was more tounge in cheek than serious but the Kirrax being held there is probably a Hivelord since the Dr talked about cross breeding it with the Nymph . Just thought that to let Buckingham suffer the same fate , two weeks of being eaten alive from the inside , a fate he condemned millions to on the Outer Worlds to , liked I ask , a little to biblical ?

The reason I asked about the crew on The Hera was to know who had the control of the ship or at least were manning most of the stations .If Melkadian moves to attack Olympus as has been discussed Norwood will know he's been betrayed , &amp; might try &amp; stop him . As the Command Ship it will be back behind the fleet waiting to give the do the most damage with it's long range weapons &amp; move in to give the Coupe De Grace . I sort of hoped Irillith will slip in quietly &amp; hack in &amp; take it over turning it against the Kintark fleet &amp; capture Norwood &amp; Melkadian , they need to pay for the slaughter of the surrendering ships &amp; innocent citizens

In reference to your art. Doesn't Rachel spend more time working in Danas' Workshop than her Lab? Because of Faye she can run DNA scans from anywhere on the ship almost. Big Dude, the traitor TF dreadnaught represents the largest and single most powerful and versatile capital ship in the the Kintark invasion fleet. It's role is not to be the point of attack, but to stay nestled in the protection of cruisers and battleships to coordinate, stand off and use its long range kinetic weapons to support fleet maneuvers. As the Vengeance of Hera is acting as the Kintark flag ship, Melkadian and other members of the Kintark top brass are aboard. They would not put themselves and the battle plan at risk by upping the vulnerability of the flag ship. Their departure from the Hera upon commencement of battle would be very suspicious and unorthodox. No doubt Melkadian hates the TF traitor Norwood, who disgusts him. No doubt Melkadian would shed no tears if Norwood fell to harm or died. Similarly I doubt any love is lost by Norwood for the Kintark. Bigdawg asked some time ago about who is crewing this ship. With no indication from Tefler to the contrary, we have to assume he has his Terran crew, supplemented by Kintark techs and security more so than ship operations personnel. In that case, humans likely outnumber Kintark aboard, though armed Kintark guard them with suspicion. Nevertheless, I agree that the shortsighted and foolish TF leaders deserve whatever cummupence they may get. The Kintark will probably find the irony gratifying and humorous that these traitors will use one of the TF's most powerful warships as an integral part of the battle plan to defeat the TFed. I asked in the last chapter whether Norwood could be redeemed? I think the better question now is can he survive?

I like your thinking Braw. Not to get nerdy, but what is the difference between a CCTV and a video call? Just thinking about it here, its only the wiring (copper or some other metal?) that should could be hopping onto thats the difference. Aside from that its just bandwidth and exposure to the outside. If Irrilith can hack a video stream, something that i think is within her abilities, then I don't see any reason why not. Maybe not the physical "pop out and zap you" thing but we will have to see what Tefler gifts her with. In "Tefler Land" anything is possible.

Melkadian Seems like a pretty shrewd character, or at least one that knows how to use his chess pieces to their fullest extent. Being that Norwood sees himself as a crucial piece in this party about to happen, anything that would put his ship in the front lines would set off warning bells. This ship is meant to be a command and control warship and not one to lead from the front, especially when his singularity drivers can punish from range at a high rate of fire. If I were Melkadian (or Telfler, and I'm not) I would stoke Norwood's ego by keeping him close to me in the center to rear of the formation and allow him to shred targets once their shields are overwhelmed. The key to Norwood is to keeping him thinking that he is the future of a new empire and until he has exhausted his usefulness that means keeping him feeling like he is a peer, not the chump at the front. Or as we liked to say in the Army, an 11 Bullet Stopper (11B being infantry designation in the United States Army).

SSH, not sure about the Kintark finding a Progenitor cloning or genetics lab. Nothing indicates that happened. Maybe? Maybe not. The genetic manipulation they do use may be an evolutionary innovation within the scope of their own bio-science. That is what Rachel seems to believe. The Ahanath had the Legacy with some of its original systems intact, to fumble in their attempts to reverse engineer the power core and other tech. There is no indication that Progenitor bio-science/genetics ever fell into the clawed hands of the Kintark.

Dawg, clearly BSP started his destabilization campaign in this stellar region while John was still a trader, long before he met Alyssa or became aware of his Progenitor heritage. In fact, if John had returned his grubby little stowaway back to Karron, he might still be on the Fools Gold with a full quad and no sense of his potential. That suggests that either BSP was aware of John and timed his campaign to coincide with John's emergence as a force; or that he knew nothing about John or his nascent Progenitor status, and waged his campaign against the Ashanath, TFed and Trankarrans for reasons of his own that are yet to be revealed. The advance planning and tech transfers necessary to put his Drakkar and Kintark -- and maybe Brimorian -- pawns in play on the timing we saw, all predate John's appearance beyond the ordinary, six months earlier. We do not know that the BSP is able to monitor whatever goes on within the Invictus' crew; or if he is able to do so, how precisely he accomplishes it. I presume he is aware of anything they do in public, including ship battles, expeditionary combat or displays of special abilities. I am not sure he is fully aware of Faye, though he likely observed the Raptor being piloted remotely. I think he is so surprised about some of what he sees because everything about John and his crew is beyond his experience or expectations. He is both amused and intrigued and far from worried or afraid. However, Dawg, I agree that Tefler does not like coincidences and has had John express his disbelief in coincidences to explain his recent deadly challenges. That said, we are ensconced in another Tefler Conundrum that is hard to explain or is yet to be revealed.

Ladies and Gentlemen, While we are pondering how the battle plays out... I was wondering if Melkadian will put the Dreadnaught in the front of the battle. I can see Melkadian tell Norwood to take the battle to the Terrans and I will be in my capital ship flanking your lead, knowing that the first ship they will fire upon will be the dreadnaught. Since it has the same firepower of the other dreadnaughts, it will be a standstill while the other Kintark ships go to work. The reason I am thinking this is Melkadian's absolute disgust for Norwood as a whining ass and he wants to dispatch with him as the fighting starts! I don't see Melkadian killing him because Norwood could have it set up that the dreadnaught self destructs if he is mysteriously killed by Melkadian. If I was Norwood I would be very wary of the dragons behind my back. But then again, he could be just as much a pompous ass as Buckingham is. As I stated before, I think Norwood will taunt the TFed leadership and especially go after Buckingham. I could see Norwood spill some special beans on Buckingham over TFed Comms. My 40 Farthings!

What are people thoughts regards the wash up the battle? Predicated on the premise that John and the girls save the day. The TFed high command have to be decimated by the battles. I would expect that perhaps 10-20% of high command will be casualties in the battles? They are commanding forces and I think this is going to be a rather brutal conflict. Can't see how both empires can survive this. Has to be either Kintark or Terran complete victory doesn't it? If Buckingham orders action against the Invictus or mech/gunship I can't see Terran troops complying. I think John's likely to hailed as the new Terran Leader after the battle or even during most likely and once the news channels start their reports all Terrans territory are going to proclaiming him the new leader under what ever regime the media package it as. You know what humans are like, once the masses get the bit between their teeth all sorts of weird shit can happen. French Revolution anyone? John may end having to be the Napoleon of his time regardless of his natural wishes.

The shields already provide 360 degree coverage. They're not like the physical, hand-held, riot-type shields that we first saw the Drakkar use which only cover the front. However, the idea of having an extra shield in a bracer that can be activated in case the main shield is knocked out is a good one. It can be like a hardened shield, taking all of the power that would normally be used for full 360 coverage and putting all into frontal protection.

Kintark bombers will not be able to get close to either the Invictus, Raptor, or Valkyrie. Their midrange defense grids would shred them to pieces, new shields and all.

Good idea with the captured fleet,but why not put some Claymores on the carriers.If the ships are piloted by by Faye you don't need a crew,just the pilots for the strike craft.1 wave per carrier ready to launch would not need a ground crew,and they could land on Terran or Maliri Carriers after the battle.It was only mentioned that Zorlins' ship had the new heatsinks,so maybe only a select few of his fleet had them.If so,plenty of the Kintark ships are still equiped with the old heatsinks and can be used as disposable shield strippers for the rest.Just sail them straight into the Kintark lines,shoot at anything close enough until major damage just about destroys them,then activate the FTL.The stripped ships could be used as rams once their shields are down.

It seems rereading the Battle of Regulus that about 100 Warships were captured &amp; they way it was described they were battleships , cruisers &amp; carriers .Not sure about Grand Prelate Zorlin flagship , it was damaged but survived , but the other fleet under Grakira was led by her Tohok battlecarrier described as the latest &amp; most powerful in the Kintark fleet so it makes sense Zorlin's was the same class . Even though they seemed to have been stripped of their heatsinks they could still be of use to Carala I'm sure . Not even sure if Kintarks know the heatsinks were stripped so they might be extra cautious if they show up on battle field against them . If as discussed they send a small fleet to Olympus &amp; John &amp; crew can defeat them , imagine the confusion in the Kintark ranks at Terra if a Kintark fleet seems to arrive screening John &amp; the Maliri fleet &amp; opens fire on them . Swapping out transponders to further confuse the picture .

Sending advance ships around the Terran flank through Brimorian Space was a stroke of genius." So, the Invectus. the Malari fleet and the second Kintark fleet are coming towards Terra on the same vector. It looks like Tefler has set the stage nicely for a fun surprise for both the Kintark and us.

I just realized something significant for the battle ahead. The damage reducing effect grows stronger with the shield strength. That means that if the Kintark and Norwoods dreadnoughts have stronger shields than the Invictus due to sheer size, not even beam lasers will scratch them. This will mean a lot of nova lance shield sniping for the Invictus and the Maliri battleships. Might be a nasty surprise in Calaras battleplan.

I can't wait to see what the small Brimorian shields do for the Valkyrie, the mech and their personal shields. I was just thinking that Dana needed to develop a shield that could live on a forearm brace and be pulled off to be activated and provide a flank shield. If they get in a situation like the Nexus assault again where they are getting hit from all sides (but by laser fire) it could get nasty fast. And then I thought about the new shields for that Paragon armor Dana will make and thought it would be pointless. If I were John I would still want something like that even then though. Just too useful for them.

If the new Kintark shields do have kill switches, and Dana found them, that could seriously turn the tide of the battle. The Terran projectile weapons, i.e. Singularity Drivers, Heavy and Gauss Cannons, are far superior to the Kintark plasma weapons when it comes to ripping apart armor and ship hulls. The only problem is those weapons are completely ineffective against shields. However, if those shields were suddenly shutdown, the full weight of the Terran's firepower can be brought to bare to shred the Kintark fleet, turning around what would have been a one-sided slaughter in the Kintark's favor to now favor the Terrans.

Tefler, I don't suppose you've gotten to a point where you could get a estimate of ship kill count for the battle, have you? It doesn't even have to be split up by faction, just the cumulative count should be enough. The rest of us addicts will spend the next day or two guessing at how that number breaks down.

Tefler always has the option of making a post a paid post, which means he'll get the per chapter amount for it. All he needs to do is make the post for chapter 100-2 a paid one as well to get the money.

SSH..you beat me to it , John mentioned early on , while watching vid feed about the rise of tension between Kintark &amp; Federation &amp; this was before he found Alyssa on the Fools Gold . While Lynton didn't start the Nexus program she did subvert it &amp; forced the Commander to continue when he warned her about the danger , which was what she hoped for &amp; Norwood was well into his conspiracy with Lynton (directed by BSP) before John started to show his power . It might be a big coincidence that John shows up just as BSP was ready to spring his traps but it seems more likely than not to me .

Dr. Dadd, I don't think that the other Progenitor is following the normal progenitor SOP. To me he seems like an evil father forcing his son to follow in the family business, ruling the Galaxy. However he seems to be confused with how John is handling each situation that he sets up. And he finds it fun to watch his "son" get out of the different, for lack of a better word, puzzles. Here is my evidence of my position; first, the other Progenitor showed up within two to three months of John first feeding Alyssa, this is when we first start seeing his hand behind the different factions. But these deals/puzzles take time to set up. Second, in a conversation with his Matriarch, the other Progenitor was wondering out loud about why John would help the insignificant races the way he was. Third, in a more recent conversation the Matriarch asked when he was going to start filling the Vats, or when he was going home to start conquering again. These three things tell me that this Progenitor is not interested in this portion of the Galaxy yet. The Progenitor probably had a psychic link to John's evil side and when he noticed John had created a Matriarch of his own, he started setting up the situations to force John to use his powers, and grow into his Progenitor heritage. Unlike in the last Progenitor war, which looked like a contest between superpowers (old USSR vs USA superpower instead of Superman vs Goku). This Progenitor hasn't brought in his troops, hasn't destroyed any Gia classification worlds, actively used his weapons in combat minus two shots in one battle (the first to only take down the shields of a Battleship and the second to take out a Thrall before she could be captured).This is NOT Progenitor SOP.

I wonder if the Kintark invasion is their own idea. That is, what is it about Kintark experiences with humans that has led them into a zero-sum conflict aimed to destroy the TF and conquer Terra? Or, is the idea to destroy the TF an original goal of BSP? If the former, BSP is helping facilitate and support the Kintark quest to prove the superiority of cold over warm blooded sentients. If the latter, the Kintark are the merely tools of BSP for reasons unrelated to the expressed Kintark goals. We know so little about the motivations and objectives of the BSP that my question must be asked. Who is fighting for what, and why, and why now?

bigdawguw65, that would be incorrect. I remember at the award's ceremony, Jack was saying his ship was just retrofitted and they were being sent out on patrol to Kirrix space. And the Claymores have been in the field for some time now as well. Now how much of the fleet has been upgraded is a question. But the ones still at Olympus are the ones that were decimated at the Second Battle of Regulus...this last one being the 3rd.

Tefler posting his work for free on Lit and SOL is what makes us giving him money of our own free will so special. There are so many other authors out there who have done as you suggested, putting samples of their work up on sites like Lit and SOL, then saying if you want to read the rest, you have to go buy it. Those authors tend to not have a favorable view among readers, because readers see that sort of move as a money grab. Tefler is very different. He started this story with no intention of making money from this story. Hell, he didn't even think he could make money from this. It wasn't until nearly a year later, after we readers suggested it, that he created this Patreon page. Now look at where he's at. I intend to keep giving Tefler my money as long as he keeps producing such quality, engrossing stories, but I would be rather disappointed if he decided to lock future chapters behind a paywall. I doubt I'll have to worry though because when he posted the first ebook to Amazon, some here suggested he do the Kindle Unlimited deal, but he declined citing that the Terms of Agreement for that required that he remove his story from all other websites, which includes Patreon, Lit, and SOL. While I'm sure from a practical perspective, he was more worried about losing the considerable income he's earning from Patreon, he also doesn't want to stiff the fans he has on Lit and SOL. If he had wanted to do that, he would have stopped posting to those sites long ago, as soon as he was getting enough from Patreon to live on.

So, I've got a suggestion. I think after ch. 100, Tefler should stop posting the rest of the story to Literotica/SOL. I think it's great that he's gone on this long giving away his work for free, for the enjoyment of tens of thousands of readers, but frankly, if readers wish to continue with the saga, they should come to patreon or buy the books once they're out and support our favorite sci-fi erotica author. 100 chapters and 2+ million words should be enough of a free sample to decide if they like the work enough to pay a few dollars for it or not.

While the Malari haven’t left their space for generations, traders do on a regular basis visit their trade stations, where they can admire the architecture of the star port, and the clear domes of their warships. I doubt any Terran had seen a Malari battleship before, but it’s not hard to make that connection.

Right, I agree. Even if the TFed somehow wins this battle and Buckingham is still alive, I doubt the Admiralty will allow him to remain in power for much longer. I just hope that John doesn't get to him first. As long as its the other Admirals removing Buckingham from office and not John, that's good. Things can get kinda ugly if John does it, as it would lend credence to Buckingham's claims that John wants to overthrow the TFed.

I'm hoping that if John finds out that Jehenna and the Nymphs are on Tartarus during the battle, that he leaves them there until afterwards, since a hidden black ops base is likely to be a lot safer than flying around a raging battlefield in either the Raptor or the Invictus. That is, of course, unless the Kintark literally stumble across the base and decide to attack it.

I know Tefler has inserted "Mission Creep" into the last couple of battles. What do you think he has planned for this one? I could see it as either action at the Citadel or a rescue mission to get Jehanna and the Nymphs. I have a hunch that the first will be the Citadel and when underway, the news of Jehanna's location gets to John and her condition. John determines that they need to split their forces to accomplish both as the situation requires it to save Jehanna. From earth it took the Invictus 3 minutes to reach the nav beacons, so Tartarus is at most 3 minutes with the Invictus and 1 minute with the Raptor. It wouldn't take long to load up and get there.

As much as I enjoy the ship to ship action I'm looking forward to the ground &amp; pound , Sakura in the Valkyrie &amp; John &amp; Tashana &amp; maybe Jade in either Giant Tiger or better her Astral Dragon form tearing into the Kintark ground troops around the T-Fed Citadel , &amp; afterwards dragging Buckingham out . Maybe for his punishment or for information on Jehanna &amp; take him to Tartarus . You are correct. It is likely that the Brimorians didn't give the Kintark their best shield tech, but we don't know for sure. The Terrans are in trouble regardless if the lizards have the fish's best stuff, but it'd be even more troublesome if they do.

Jedi...I wonder how powerful the screens are that the Brimorians gave the Kintark , even with the kill switch do you really give a possible enemy your best stuff ? We know that John was usually offer a "trade grade " at first but earned the best stuff by doing favors , so it seems it is common practice to hold back the "military grade" tech . John of course dealt for their best tech (plus Irillith recoquisioned it from their flag ship ) , so with it, Dana's up grades &amp; Maliri modulators &amp; the eternity crystals the Invictus's shield are more powerful than the Brimorians best .

If you're talking about the forces on either side of the Maliri Civil War, consider that each side had some 400 capital ships each, which was more than what the Kintark and Terrans had present at the Battle of Regulus combined. Also, that was the entirety of the Maliri's military power gathered there, much like how the Kintark have gathered everything for this coming battle. Maliri ships are quite a bit stronger than Kintark or Terran ships of the same class, and that was before the Maliri got the upgrades from John. So yes, if they were to send 400 capital ships against either the Kintark or the Terrans, they could likely easily overwhelm the defenders. Now if they were to send 200 capital ships, the fight might be a bit more difficult. As a famous person once said, "Quantity has a quality of its own." Never discount the strength of numbers. Of course, it also helps if those numbers are also backed up by superior quality too.

Calara noted that the forces on either side of the Maliri battle could crush the T-Federation or the Kintark Empire on their own , so number of ships shouldn't be an issue .

Oh, and this trap is now somewhat mitigated by the Kintark's shield advantage. Hopefully the Kintark's shields aren't nearly as good as what John got from the Brimorians (prior to Dana's upgrades). If they are, then the Claymores will be completely ineffective as the shields will pretty much ignore the Gatling Lasers the Terrans are armed with. At least they'll be able to keep the Kintark busy as they try to catch the vastly faster and more nimble Claymore.

Some time back, when the new Claymore fighters were introduced, I put forth a potential trap/strategy the TFed could use with them. I think this battle would be the perfect time for that. The tactic is this: Since the Claymores are basically refitted gunships, perhaps when the TFed first launches them, they can act as if they were still gunships, i.e. slow moving and good targets for fighters. Since they will likely be sent out in the first wave of fighters, it could be that the Kintark will think that the TFed is short on fighter craft and has to resort to the slower gunships to supplement. The Claymores can then move to the edge of the battlefield and try looping around the Kintark as if they were going to try a flanking maneuver and maybe even do some boarding actions (provided that model of gunship is known to Norwood as having troop carrying capacity). This would lure the Kintark fighters away from engaging the main TFed fleet. Once the Kintark fighters are committed to attacking the Claymores, the Terrans open up the throttles and give the lizards one hell of a surprise as the gunships start flying circles around the Kintark fighters. Of course, one problem with this trick is that it requires a lot of restraint on the part of the jet jockeys in the Claymores until the lizards take the bait.

I know this is not something you ever ask a lady, but how much does Faye weigh? It occurred to me that with her new body being all metal and cybernetics, it is likely a bit heavier than it looks, unless Dana included some anti-gravs to counter the weight. With Faye continuing to use John's command podium/console as a perch, I hope Dana has thought to reinforce it somehow so Faye's weight doesn't damage it. I can just see it now, the next time Faye sits down on John's console, it goes "Crack!" and Faye is absolutely mortified, having forgotten that a physical body now has mass and weight she has to account for when sitting on something. Also, do Faye's holograms still have wings or has she changed them to match her wingless body?

Maliri have a longer sensor range than Terran ships so they don't need to be stationed at the trading posts to keep an eye on them. They can be off out of range of every other species and still be able to watch every ship coming and going

Terran sensors are half as effective as Maliri, and the Maliri know this, so I'm sure that whatever you are concerned about (which I still don't understand) is unfounded.

The trading station is in Maliri space just inside the border. The trading expedition was warned to go no further into Maliri space then they were destroyed aditionaly Maliri ships are stationed at the port so terrains would see them

Maliri ships make periodic visits to their trading stations where Terran traders and tourist visit. They have been seen at border posts over the years, but they do not allow foreigners deeper into their territory. So the Maliri design aesthetic in ship building is probably quite familiar -- maybe even popular in movies -- even though most people have never seen one with their own eyes.

Telfer, when the Maliri enter TFED space it is the first time in 9000 years they have left Maliri space as per when they entered fishy space. How did TFED know they were Maliri ships? You may want to add some dialogue from both the Maliri side and TFED regarding that fact as its a pretty big deal, leaving Maliri space

It's definitely possible to be selective in which "thralls" are trapped for energy. In an early chapter (Drakar bording?) one of the girls were injured and Alyssa chose not to use their energy to heal the more serious injuries.

Just a thought. Next battle they go into that involves pulling power from the "thrall", Edraele needs to not tap the 4. Pregnancy and all. Is it even possible to be selective?

If it please the court (i.e. Tefler)...I realize this suggestion is too late, and you have already posted Chapter 99, but IMO the material in Chapter 100-1 is actually more well-suited for inclusion in an expanded chapter 99 than it is for the "Battle of Terra II" chapter 100. So, since it's too late for that suggestion now, I submit that once you get around to the 9th-10th eBook where you are re-editing and compiling these chapters for publishing the eBook, you might want to reconsider dividing the chapters/sections up a little bit differently. FWIW,

I don't think it is prescience as much as a separate progenitor ability that John doesn't lean toward, less about knowing what is to come and more about knowing the importance and uses of different pieces of the proverbial puzzle. Knowing thae Helene is important is different than knowing the future around her. Also Calara's prescience only extends a few moments into the future, whereas this would require a lot more.

Just a thought: Faye and her little staff meeting, with all 12 Of then rubbing their tummy, would be an interesting picture.

Well, I have an interesting observation. I think Alyssa has Prescience...at least to some degree, like empathic abilities? Check this out: "The blonde stood up straighter and fixed him with a steely gaze. *No. This is important... Helene’s important, I can feel it." And this was after she 'felt' there was something important as they discussed leaving the Vulcat ship. This seems to be a growing area for Alyssa's already prestigious abilities.
