I think the hair should be longer and Fuller. It's just the way you have described it.

I like this one quite a bit better. Often light clothing tends to feel more erotic than a naked body.

On the hand/finger thing, yeah it looks a bit off because the thickness of the fingers looks equal IMO. Hard to tell at this size/resolution but the joints rent well defined either, giving no clue to the relative lengths. The apparent length can be explained by the fingers raking through her hair, a trick I'd use because I can't draw hands :)

Also the look of her hair at the front, the almost vertical rising forehead and flat top of the skull, with the hair pulled back like that just looks off.

I have to wonder what the scene will look like for Dana's portrait. She is the Grand Engineering Overlord, so maybe something depicting her lording over her workshop in a grand way?

yeah but that's only the top half for the broad shoulders and heavy muscles she doesn't have which is why its not done up. The bottom half can still be skin tight and sexy as hell.

I hate to be that guy, but wasn't the flight suit John's? I seem to remember it being baggy and overly large on her.........

Yes, that's right. I think this is a better cover for the intro to the series, but I don't want to release eBook 2 with the same coverart as Book 1. I'll do the switch probably at the end of January.

Yeah I hope they don't balk at the glimpse of side-boob! Maybe on the eBook. I need to get the high-def art from the artist once I've paid him the second half of his money. Then there's a handful of edits that my editors pointed out, which I'll need to quickly go through. :-)

Tefler, is the plan still to use this as the cover for eBook 2 for a month, then switch covers with eBook 1 and print the 2nd book using the eBook 1 cover now being used that will be used for eBook 2 in the future?
